I know you just posted one, but... please more body swap au. Thank you <3
Sure thing, Anon! ^^ (Iâm trying to post one installment per weekâŠweâll see how that goes, haha)Parts 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7Also available on AO3: Switched
Michele was both shocked and impressed. Emil certainly did âmake a good himâ as Sara had put it. And, after apologizing profusely - and doing a fine job impersonating Emil, he thought - they shuffled out of the elevator.
Victor and Yuuri hadnât said anything to them, though the former did whisper something to Mila, who just laughed it off as he doors closed.
âThat was close,â Emil said, letting out a breath. âSorry I had to shout at you, Mickey.â
âYou donât have to apologize!â Sara gushed, stepping between them and putting a hand on Emilâs shoulder. âItâs Mickeyâs fault that you had to act like that, anyway.â
âHeyâŠâ he grumbled, but didnât argue. She wasnât wrong.
âAnyway.â Mila stepped forward, linking her arm with Saraâs. âShall we head to the Chinese restaurant?â
Michele still doubted the existence of a magical, mystical fortune cookie that could somehow switch his and Emilâs bodies back, but, then again, before today, he wouldnât have believed it possible to swap in the first place.
âI sure hope this works,â Emil said from beside him. âIâm sure you want to get your body back, Mickey.â He sounded so apologetic. But it wasnât as if it was Emilâs fault.
âYou, as well,â Michele replied and then cleared his throat. Only moments ago, Emil was screaming at him. And the whole time, ridiculous as it was, he kept thinking back to the kiss theyâd shared in the hotel room.
That hadnât succeeded in switching them back either, but it reminded him of the many, many kisses from the night before. It was all coming back to him, clearer than when heâd first groggily pulled himself out of bed.
If only he could remember what else had happened last night. Maybe the girls were right and they had done something to cause the swap in the first place.
His thoughts were interrupted when someone - Sara - elbowed him in the ribs. âOww. What?â he hissed and then blinked when she pointed forward.
Just ahead of them were Otabek and Leo, the latter waving cheerfully and beckoning him over.
âTheyâre calling you, Emil,â Sara whispered, unable to cover up a giggle.
âWhat do they want?â he directed toward the real Emil, who just smiled before rearranging his expression into one that was more Michele-like.
âProbably just to say âhello,â Mickey,â he answered. âOr maybe share some cool music.â
Michele faltered, suddenly nervous. âAre youâŠclose with them?â he asked, ignoring the odd feeling that twisted in his chest.
Emil shrugged. âI guess.â
âEmil!â Leo called again and Michele squared his shoulders, giving the others one last uncertain glance before he walked over. âEmil!â Leo cheered when he arrived. âNice job yesterday.â
âYes, you performed well,â Otabek added.
Michele stood there, unsure what to say. âThanks,â he decided and then rubbed the back of his neck. âYou guys, too.â
âOh, before I forget!â Leo pulled out his phone. âI found this old Eurobeat song that I think youâre going to love!â He chuckled and held out an earbud. Michele hesitated before taking it. âOtabek said he wouldnât be caught dead playing it, but-â
âI didnât say that.â Otabek frowned. âI simply said-â
âBeka! There you are!â Yuri appeared out of nowhere. âWeâre going to be late.â He tugged on his arm and then his gaze shifted to Michele. âWhat are you looking at?â
Michele just raised his brows, but said nothing as they disappeared past the fountain and toward the lobby.
âSo,â Leo caught his attention. âWhat do you think? A classic, right?â
âUhâŠâ But Michele was at a loss. Thankfully, it seemed as though Leo had somewhere else to be. A message popped up on his phone and he smiled as he read it.
âIâll see you later, Emil!â he called over his shoulder before he, too, vanished.
Michele heaved a sigh of relief, glad it was finally over. But he jolted when a large hand fell on his shoulder.
âEmil!â A tall man circled around him, followed by two others, equally as large. They said a few things in Czech and Michele swallowed, his heart thudding in his chest. âIâve been working on my English,â he continued. âHowâs it sound? Good right?â
âHe doesnât care about that!â another joined in. âWe happened to be visiting and caught your performance.â
âWe didnât want to tell you, in case you got nervous or something,â the third added with a big grin.
ââŠTh-ThanksâŠâ Michele managed. Heâd never met these men before. They were obviously friends of Emilâs from back home.
âHey! Isnât that your Mickey back there?â The first one pointed. Michele turned and saw Emil - with his face, of course - staring, wide-eyed at the four of them, with a look of complete panic.
âYeah! It is!â the second agreed. âHe is cute, Emil.â
âShame heâs stringing you along.â The third clicked his tongue, shaking his head.
Michele blinked. âExcuse me?â He furrowed his brow.
âDidnât you sayâŠâ the third trailed off, lowering his voice. âHe is the one you keep kissing, right?â
âCome off it!â The second slapped the third hard on the shoulder. âEmil doesnât just go around kissing everyone. Of course, itâs him.â He turned to face Michele. âRight?â
Michele was frozen in place. Emil had told people about their kisses?!
Of course, it wasnât as if Michele had a right to be upset. Heâd told Sara, after all. But still! These men - who heâd never even heard of - knew about such private things between them?
âMaybe itâs time you cut him loose,â the first interrupted Micheleâs train of thought. âSeems like heâs playing you.â
Michele frowned. âPlayingâŠ?â
âCâmon, Emil.â Michele was roughly shoved, perhaps playfully, and then slapped on the back. âYouâve had plenty of chances to confess, right?â
Michele whipped his head around. Emil was now making his way over, pulling his arms free from Mila and Saraâs grasp.
âAnyway, looks like heâs headed this way,â one said - Michele wasnât sure which. âWeâre going to go back to sightseeing.â
âTake care, Emil! See you at home!â
âMickey!â Emil placed a hand on his shoulder. âMickey, donât mind them.â His fingers were trembling. âThey didnâtâŠsay anything weird, did they?â
Michele turned to face him, searching his eyes for the truth. âEmil,â he began, his tongue coming out to wet his lips. âDo you think Iâm playing you?â
Whoa, this one went long. Oops!! Sorry about that~Weâre getting close to the end, though.
Also, please donât think too hard about a competition where everyone is thereâŠfor some reason. Just go with it XD
