Tansy and Yellow Carnation
Okay so idk how things really work here but I got multiple stories I'd like to write, so i'm just gonna post the "Chapter 0" and I'll actually continue it if people likes it.
So have Tansy and Yellow Carnation. It's another isekai novel like you've probably read before with an MC that gets hit by truck-kun and reincarnate as the villain in the novel she was reading, except that here she's not a wimp and can be considered a villain herself.
Acantha waited at the edge of the pathway, waiting for the sign to turn green so she could cross. She couldn’t wait to get home; her heels were making her feet ache, and the sun was already setting. But at least today she won another case. Well, not that she expected to lose, she was Acantha after all, the world-wide renowned lawyer, not having lost a single case, even when the asshole was in fact guilty. Acantha did not care, as long as they paid handsomely.
She took her phone out of her pockets as she felt it buzz. The notification was the brand-new chapter of the novel she was reading. It was another one of those hidden gems with 3 readers but incredible writing. She discovered it by searching her name up, as she had the same name as the villainess.
Her mom had named her that because she was like a thorn, her existence is the reason her father broke up with her mother, not ready to be a father. Her mother also repeated that she made her ugly by being born. Even if Acantha could safely say she had already been ugly before her pregnancy.
But this does not matter. Her mother is rotting in a bad retirement home, and she is a successful lawyer who lives in a wide penthouse with a view on the ocean.
She just now realized she was smiling at the black screen of her phone, people giving her weird looks.
The woman cleared her throat and reopened her phone. Ah, this was the last chapter? What a shame.
It was also quite short, judging by the word count at the bottom of the screen.
Well, it was to be expected. The main character, Amory, has finally overthrown the emperor that exiled her and everyone supporting her made sure her ascension to that throne went smoothly.
Acantha began reading the chapter, the sign still red, cars passing by, as well as bikes and motorcycles.
The sign stayed red for so long that she almost had finished the last chapter as it finally turned green. She advanced with other pedestrians as she read the last lines.
“As Amory turned her back to her dying sister laying in the field of Black-eyed Susans, she sighed. She should be happy she finally had her revenge, so why wasn’t she?
As she glared with hatred at the retreating back of her sister, Acantha finally took her last breath.”
“MISS!” Screamed someone as the path Acantha was on got illuminated by the lights of a truck who did not have a driver.
Acantha woke up in a gasp, silk sheets falling off her body as she did so. She clutched her chest as she panted. She could swear she had been hit by a truck.
She stopped dead in her track as she noticed the large and lavish bedroom she was laying in. She had never seen it, and the white and purple of it made her wants to vomit, it was so flashy.
Looking down at her body, she also realized she was in a strange Victorian white gown and snow-white hair was falling at the sides of her vision.
She noticed a mirror at the side of the room, the sun making it shine.
Throwing the cover off herself, she stumbled to the mirror, staring at herself. Or at least what should have been. Because she was staring at a teenager with long curly white hair, white eyelashes and golden eyes. That certainly wasn’t her body. Where did her brown hair and blue eyes go?
But the only person she knew with that appearance was Acantha from Red and White Roses.
She sighed. She was not alien to the term of reincarnation, but she never thought it was real.
As she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, she could in fact, feel a sort of magical ball in her stomach. It was safe to assume this was her mana core. How odd does it feel...
The body she was in was quite young, but still tall enough to be older than 12. Either 13 or 14, meaning Amory is between 10 and 11-
Her train of thoughts got interrupted by a maid knocking on the door.
“Enter” announced Acantha. The maid pushed the big doors of her bedroom open, a tray with tea pots and porridge.
“Good morning miss” Smiled the elder maid as she set the tray on a small table at the other side of the bedroom. “How have your sleep been?”
Acantha huffed and smiled. “Horrible, I dreamt that my dear sister murdered my in cold blood”
The elderly woman’s eyes widened. “That’s horrible my lady, do you feel unsafe with lady Amory that much?”
Acantha stepped away from the mirror and sat on the couch, in front of the small table.
“I do not. It was just a dream. Speaking of her, could you remind me her age?” She hummed while waiting for the maid to pour her the tea in the porcelain cup resting on the tray.
“Lady Amory is 11” replied the woman, filling Acantha’s cup with the still steaming liquid.
Acantha nodded, deep in thoughts. So that means she is now 14.
“Has she tested positive to mana yet?” She picked up the teacup and held it to her lips, only sipping once the other woman answered.
“No, my lady. She might truly be manaless. Truly a sad fate. She is still lucky to have been adopted by the duke, had she not she would have starved in the streets long ago. Manaless children does not survive long when alone.” The maid sighed.
“... Truly is sad.” Muttered Acantha, perfectly knowing that Amory is the certain opposite of manaless, in the future being one of the very best adventurers. But this was such a great opportunity, the original Acantha was an idiot not to have taken it.
The original Acantha was already a prodigy, having an uncommonly large amount of mana, and could sense Amory’s overwhelming mana. But instead of securing her little sister’s loyalty, she let jealousy overtake her, framing Amory and getting her exiled.
But Acantha, the present one, will not make the same mistake. If oh so sweet Amory could turn into her lap dog, she could go as far as becoming the duchess instead of her older brothers. No... She could even become the empress.
What a good idea, nothing less than Empress would really suit her. This was just too perfect.
