ههههه Honestly, yes. Complete with the baby...
Amedras arrived yesterday evening, and he's spent much of today getting acquainted with our spring weather. I'm giving him a week or so to get his bearings before we start training... Phee and I went out to say hello to him this morning, and both of them were largely unafraid and interested in each other. Perhaps we should strap him to a saddle of his own until he can ride... And now, to find the perfect rescue for Trowa.
Syrian Statuette of the God Shamash
Shamash, a Near Eastern sun god, is shown seated. His helmet is decorated in relief with horns and topped by a sun disk, which may have been copied from representations of Egyptian solar deities. Shamash’s fine features and full, pointed beard are typically Syrian; his eyes were once inlaid. His arms are bent forward, with the hands partially preserved. He wears a mantle with a thick border over a kilt with a fringed hem.

Stone Sculptures by Japanese Artist Jiyuseki Project Description: Incredible Stone Sculptures. Jiyuseki is a Japanese artist and sculptor who carves incredible sculptures in stone to create a perfect illusion of a soft or elastic material. It’s amazing how realistic the effect looks, even though he doesn’t remove the rough texture of the stones. Source: We and The Color

Southeast Asia Celebrates the New Year
Explore more photos from celebrations throughout Southeast Asia by browsing these hashtags: #Songkran (Thailand & Cambodia), #Songkan (Laos), and #Thingyan (Burma).
Countries throughout Southeast Asia are celebrating the New Year this weekend! Known as Songkran (สงกรานต์ & សង្រ្កាន្) in Thailand & Cambodia, Songkan (ສົງການ) in Laos, and Thingyan (သင်္ကြန်) in Burma, the several-day celebration was once determined by the lunar calendar, but now regularly begins on April 12 or 13.
The event’s festivities are rooted in Buddhism and vary from country to country. The most common ritual involves large crowds of people dousing one another with water. Other customs include lighting candles and incense at Buddhist shrines, making charitable contributions to the poor and cleansing icons of the Buddha.
If you’re planning to participate in the water throwing festivities, you may want to make sure your phone is waterproof!
KARE DIT JE COULD POST DIS. Voici the nouveaux director of Preventer Academy!
I did so under duress, you cad! And now, a more serious post…
I am indeed the new director of our reformed Preventer Academy! Over the years (and various Christmas specials inciting interest), we’ve come to the point where we need different levels of instruction for each “semester”, rather than simply the continuation from the first one. We have cadets that did not pass the first qualifications but were retained and were in the beginners classes again, which won’t do forever… so, the changes are being made, and I couldn’t be happier!
My switch from instructor to director came after a lovely conversation I had with my wife about my concerns with my job. Certainly, I had my expertise, and I do enjoy teaching! But there was quite a bit of discontent, nonetheless. My skills, you see, are in organizing people, events, that sort of thing. Now, I am going to be putting all my energy into working with my fellow Preventers on our new curriculum, doing Qatra’s paperwork, and other exciting things!
I am very excited.
And likewise.

Last Night At the Library - Traci Brimhall
You recite the bones of the body as though it were a poem. Patella, femur, coccyx, your eyes closed, head weaving slightly as you travel up the body. Before you can arrive at the cranial borders, I put down Conrad and lean against you. You ask what I’ve been reading, and I tell you it’s the death of geographical mystery, when the last white patches of the atlas were shaded in and the dark corners of the world were given names. Maybe we shouldn’t know where all rivers begin. Maybe there should be some native tongues without translations. I want to hear drums in the jungle, I say, to hear the Earth’s wild heartbeat. You press my head to your chest and help me navigate the pulse, atrium, ventricle, aorta, as I close my eyes and discover a land where true believers still eat the bodies of their gods.
Trowa at work, I see.
