hello~! i’m not very good at explaining, but i’ll try:

first of all, the picture you want to turn into an outline needs to be b&w. since the “people” in this graphic are manga characters they’re already like that lolthen, i colored the layer of the background and, in the layer of the picture, i used the multiplyblending mode and… voila! the multiply mode makes the upward layer mix with the layer underneath.

i’m afraid this process only works with drawings, i never tried to do this kind of editing with, you know, 3d
