“[On Wonder Woman] It was important for me that we show how independent she is. She is not relying on a man, and she’s not there because of a love story. She’s not there to serve someone else. She has so many strengths and powers, but at the end of the day she’s a woman with a lot of emotional intelligence… I think women are amazing for being able to show what they feel.”
I’m a genuine person - I will never promote something I don’t believe in.
xavbahar:
“I’m sure I could find something.” Xavier muttered, but he didn’t have much heat behind it. He ran a finger across the stainless steel of an industrial grade stove. Gas cooktop. He didn’t know if she needed that or if electric was fine in a bakery. He wasn’t an expert on bakery supplies. “I hope your building is up to code. It is old. It might not be safe to plug in a big stove. The whole place could go up and you’d be forced to return to school and get a real degree and not a trade.”
Yael’s playful smile dropped and she rolled her eyes. While a conversation between the two usually ended up in this direction some way or another, it still stung a little. Not that she’d admit to it. “Of course it’s up to code. I did have a working, industrial grade stove in there before, you know.” Shrugging her bag further onto her shoulder, she crouched down in front of one of the lower cost options and opened it to peer inside. “That sounds awfully suspicious of you. Now when it goes up in flames, I’ll be sure of who I’m going to have to pick out in a lineup.”
xavbahar:
“Tell me again, why I was required to come along. I assure you, I do have better things I could be doing.” He didn’t. He had nothing to do all day other than lay on the sofa with his dog and watch a rerun of House Hunters International.
“Oh, would you stop being such a Debbie Downer? What possibly more could you being doing with your time other than going appliance shopping with your dear sister? Please, I’d really love to know.” She was perfectly capable at finding a new stove on her own, but when she knew that Xavier was available, she figured she’d at least recruit him to go along for the ride. At this point Yael was immune to his whining, so it didn’t exactly phase her any more.
ellexreis:
“claaaaaaaaasic me. i fucked up. like massively, but it is never too early for a post-crisis/pre-subsequent-crises snack.”
“well then you’ve come to the right place,” yael grinned as she wiped her hands across her apron. using her finger to punch the numbers into the register, she counted out the six cupcakes. "i personally also run to the cupcakes when i’m in need of a pick-me-up. it may not be the most effective form of damage control, but at least it’s delicious.”

Alexandra had been working a full shift at the bar tonight so you could say she was exhausted and ready to go home. This was her first job ever but being a bartender was probably a very good fit. A sigh left her lips as she finally gave the person sitting at the bar the last drink of the night. “Thank the heavens my shift is over now. A rose scented bubble bath is waiting for me.”
Yael could probably count on both hands the amount of times she found herself at a bar at closing time, yet here she was. When saying it had been a day from hell, it had been a literal day from hell. From the oven in the bakery completely dying to the random amount of money that had gone missing from the register, the only thing that could wipe her mind clean from the events was alcohol. Her ears perked as another drink was sat before her and the bartender spoke. “Rose scented bubble bath,” the woman repeated as she used the straw to slow stir her drink. “I have to say, that sounds like a dream right about now.”

Like a wild flower; she spent her days, allowing herself to grow, not many knew of her struggle, but eventually all; knew of her light.

“In real life, I’m the type of girl who doesn’t take herself too seriously. I’m very serious when it comes to work, but I like to make jokes and have a good laugh and make fun of myself.”
