Yagen really hates getting wet! If he has to do it for logical reasons, or master’s orders - he doesn’t complain but he feels gross after ww. This actually kinda originated from his time with the horses and he refuses to do any work afterwards before washing his face and clothes first. He only trusts the baths or water he tested on to deem it to be “touchable,” and is usually the only one still on the beach while everyone is playing in the ocean.

Yagen has a tendency to be really aloof, maybe even cold to others he’s not familiar with, even with other swords. It’s just because he can’t afford to put his emotions above his work and also doesn’t want to seem weak to the other larger swords as well. His past can be a sensitive topic for him so he doesn’t open up easily, but if you come close enough he becomes a really loyal friend.

Yagen acts slightly different when he’s with more of his “closer” brothers. (taishougumi, midare) He feels like he doesn’t need to be as mature with them and is often really sarcastic and playful around them as well. However he still has a different mood to him than the rest because his past is a lot different from theirs as well.

Yagen is absolutely TERRIBLE in the kitchen. His knife skills are a mess and is too rough with fragile ingredients. He sometimes purposefully overcook or put in strange ingredients just because he’s curious to see what will happen. He’s also not a picky eater, so as long as the food is edible he deems it as a success which doesn’t sit well with some of the more pickier members. 

When he’s really messing it up he’ll even slip in a few of his “special ingredients” to see if his latest creation would cause any effect and at one point he refused to take his gloves off???? Get this doctor banned?????

Yagen first started to study medicine and other related subjects so he could get a better understanding of himself and his new human body. So many of his previous masters fell to/attempted suicide and he was secretly scared of how fragile human beings can be and was afraid that he too might fall short of his duty as a sword. It wasn’t until later that he decided to go more in depth with his research after realizing just how vital this information can be.
