I do enjoy how the first one doesn't really have a typical storyline (I know there is one but it's not as important as it is in 2) but I had so much fun with 2 storyline,

I feel like people don't realize just how terrifying it is to not be able to remember a lot of things unless they can't remember much
So eldest daughter effect and all, but I don't think I've seen people talking about how much being an only child can fuck you up. Especially when your parents depend on you and simultaneously put you on a pedestal for being all they have in the world while burdening you with being the sole target of their problems.
And fuck the "only child syndrome" theory where they say only children are spoiled, selfish, and lack social skills because they grew up too entitled and didn't have to share their parents' attention. I want to talk about how only children have no one to share the trauma with.
when I found out my friends have no siblings I always ask isnât that kind of lonely??? And they are always like idk not really and yeah u canât miss what youâve never known I guess but some nights me and my little sister will stay up late even though we both have class tomorrow and we will listen to fast car by Tracy chapman on repeat no talking just us quietly listening and I think that even if I never knew my sister I would still miss her somehow

I get jealous and I get sad. I am a total advocate for sibling relationships, when I hear someone and their brothers or sisters arenât in good terms I want to shake them. I want to blow up. I want to make them see this is no life. At the end of the day all you have is yourself so you gotta learn to be confident, happy, comfortable, grateful for yourself. But just imagine what things could be like if you didnât have your siblingsâŚ
When I was a kid there wasnât anyone to blame the stupid shit I did and got caught for on. So many times I felt bombarded and scared of adults in my family and retreat back to my room to nothing - to no one. I went to school and there was nobody who was going to have my back if I was being bullied or if I was excluded from all the groups I tried to be a part of. There wasnât anyone to play with when both my parents said no. There wasnât much bonding in my childhood years. There was no one to look up to. No one to ask advice from. There was nothing but silence so loud it pierces your ears when you walk into the front door after school when your parents were at work.
But itâs okay cause I got to selfishly hoard all my toys to myself and didnât have to share, right? That, and soo many more valuable lessons learned far too late. I didnât have anyone who was going to be so mean that they bothered me all the time, right? Nobody ever came to see me, I talked to myself. I made freinĂŠes with my own shadow. Itâs okay, because I mustâve been the best kid, right? Quiet doesnât mean Iâm the best kid ever. Because I have no idea how annoying brothers and sisters are⌠because I have no idea what itâs like to have my sibling make abrupt sounds to keep me from speaking, right? Instead I find myself craving the idea of having a sibling ask me for things ask for my advice. Need me for something. Come into my room just to bother me. Craving the arguments. Craving human interaction. For life Iâll be silent.
I donât wanna be alone. But here I am as I sit in the silenceâŚ. Alone.

The things no one tells you about being an only child-
You're so soul-crushingly lonely all the time. You feel like you're missing out on some fundamental part of being human, yet everyone tells you you're lucky. When your parents fight you're either dragged into it or completely isolated- there's no one to relate to. You're told your "mature" but it's just because you spend all your time around adults. You love your friends like family but you know they'll always love their siblings more than they love you. You have so much pressure on you all the time- you're expected to be the golden child. Yet you're also treated like a baby. The attention is on you 24/7 but you're still lonely. You're convinced your parents are always right and your points are invalid because there's no one to take your side. If your parents want more kids but can't have them, you feel like you're not enough. Your parents are your only family, your everything, but they need time without you. You're the third wheel in their relationship. You're paralyzed by the fear that someday they'll die and your entire family will be gone. You feel unable to make close relationships with people your age.
You feel all of this and more, but sure, you're lucky because you don't share a room.
being a only child is like. I'm the eldest. I'm the responsible one. I need to live up to their expectations. I'm their baby. I know everything. I don't know anything that matters. I'm their golden child. I'm their biggest disappointment. I'm nothing like my parents. I'm the worst version of my parents. I'm the exact copy of my parents. I miss them. I can't stand being on the same house for more than a week. They love me. They regret me. I get everything they can offer. I get their whole attention. I can't do anything wrong. I can't fail. I inherited every flaw they have. I'm a mistake. If they fight it's my fault. Everything is my fault. I'm not that important. I'm everything for them. They don't need me the way I need them. They raised me and can't look at me on the eyes without seeing their mirror. They can't accept I'm not like them. I'm nothing without them. I'm my own person. I can be everything I want to be. I can't cross their beliefs. When they die I'll be alone. I have been alone since I was born.
It's always the eldest child this, middle child that, youngest child this. It's never the only child.
Yes the oldest have the most trauma. Yes the middle is always ignore. Yes the youngest is always treated like a kid. But the only child is always divided.
The oldest complains, our parents became parents to our siblings not to us, because they were unprepared. But the only child, never had parents, their parents never grow up. They didn't had anyone to experiment other way so they stay the immatured parents.
The middle cries, our parents never saw us, because they were busy with others. The only child, was always seen, so much that they could not escape their eyes and have themselves to themselves only.
The youngest yells, our parents never took us seriously, because they never thought we can grown up. Yet the only child, remained a kid who had to act like a grown-up since the beginning because âYou are the only one we have. â
You can't say being only child is a luxury. Not when I'm always flaunted as a trophy but ignored as a child. Not when I'm treated like a male but expected to be kind like a female. Not when I see my parent's being better parents to other children which are not even their own. Not when I'm always divided between my parents. Not when I'm their hope but disappointment too. Not when they remind me, oh how they wish they had another.
I am the oldest daughter who parents their own parents. I am the middle child who decided for my own future because the adults ânever understoodâ me. I am the youngest son who cries alone silently swallowing their anger but cracking jokes to make my parents smile.
I am the only child. I will always be the one to enjoys loneliness.
you need to be kinder to people with memory issues.
even if you told them already about what you were going to do and you don't feel like enough time has passed to justify forgetting it.
even if it's frustrating to repeat yourself or give reminders.
even if it crosses your mind that the reason the person forgot is because they don't care. it's rarely true, but i don't blame people for thinking it sometimes.
you need to know nobody is choosing to forget day-to-day interactions and plans and obligations. it's actually really upsetting to figure out you've forgotten something again and wonder what else you're forgetting. it's worse when you feel like you can't ask questions or clarification without upsetting or annoying the people around you.
please be kinder to people with memory problems.
