Graeco-Roman Mythology WLW-Ship Iceberg
(This is purposefully a list of lighthearted fandom ships and not serious canonical lesbian relationships. I am not trying to prove these were authorially intended. If you um akshully me for reaching or go 'cant the gays just let girls be friends nowadays' i will beat you with a brick)

@hermesmoly I am very excited to help with this, I have copies of translations for most Servian works!
Servius on Aeneid 4.402
There is a tale: in Attica, there was a maiden named Myrmix, loved by Minerva for her chastity and diligence, who later incited Minervaâs anger against her. For when Minerva saw Ceres finding crops, wishing to show the Athenians how to better grow crops, she is said to have invented the plough. As she was using it, and Myrmix clung to her, she dared to secretly steal the handle of the plough and boast among people that Ceresâs gift was fruitless unless they used her invention, which allowed the land to yield crops more quickly. When Minerva found out, she turned Myrmix into an ant, an enemy to grain, which always pursues and steals it. This act moved Jupiter to mercy, and he devised how to honour the ants. When he placed Aeacus, his son born in Aegina, as king over Thessaly and saw the lands lacking people, he ordered ants to be gathered into one place and transformed them into humans, hence called Myrmidons.
Her name is Myrmix in Latin, but wouldâve been closer to Myrmex in Greek. Also Zeus feeling bad for Myrmex is really sad. I wonder if Athena brought her over all the time and bragged about her protĂ©gĂ©âs skills regularly before the betrayal </3 I feel inclined to note the connection between this and the Attic Arachne also,
Scholiast on Nicander Theriaca 12.a:
And Theophilus, of the School of Zenodotus [3rd century BC], records that in Attica there were two siblings, Phalanx, the man, and the woman, named Arachne. But while Phalanx learned from Athena the martial arts and Arachne the art of weaving, they were abhorred by the goddess because they had intercourse with each other. They were transformed into animals who were eaten by their own offspring.
Combining the Arachne/Myrmex stories to get Arachne x Athena-until-Arachne-betrayed-her actually goes so hard imo. Especially with the scale of her betrayal in Ovid. Like. She taught you everything you knew and then you claimed to be better than her. Ouch.

i do think that one of the points absent from "is jon conventionally attractive" discourse is his insane charisma. even excluding sam, ygritte, val, and satin, we're left with jeor mormont, maester aemon, mance, dalla, and melisandre, who all like him. even stannis baratheon looks genuinenly fond of jon. and for a leader, charisma is far more important than handsomeness.

âAre they ever coming back?â Bran asked him. âYes,â Robb said with such hope in his voice that Bran knew he was hearing his brother and not just Robb the Lord. âMother will be home soon. Maybe we can ride out to meet her when she comes. Wouldnât that surprise her, to see you ahorse?âÂ

It is time to cross the Trident, Dany thought, as she wheeled and rode her silver back.
Dany and Rhaegar in armour inspired by Daemon's in the first episodes of House of the Dragon! This show reminded me why I fell in love with this story all those years ago, and also that I miss her.

Jon v Ramsay, this time in colour, inspired by @marwyn 's lovely post.
i know there's a lot of rhaegar-posting on this blog, but it's incredibly important to me that ppl know that i think jon is his mother's son first and foremost. lyanna is everything to me
But there were others with faces he had never known in life, faces he had seen only in stone. The slim, sad girl who wore a crown of pale blue roses and a white gown spattered with gore could only be Lyanna
