The Kibra Child. After the rains, in solitude with myself, after a whole school day, on a table of one shared by three, I trudge the mud, with the cold biting my tiny frame, I think of me now and of me in the times beyond the hill. I hold my chin high and homewards stomp the mud majestically, for I know the future is still bright.

Arguably, this is the most photographed angle of Kibera Slum. No one knows exactly her population. Christened headquarters of NGOs, marked as a permanent political hot spot, still black in the government development map; a boiling pot of diverse cultures, from her bowels we have seen many champions and superstars emerge; the symbolic iron rail road cuts across.
