“What a dork,” he mumbles, lips quirking up into a small smile as he is pulled back into the comfort of the blankets, warm and fluffy in the space he shares with the other. While Rin had been more than prepared to go for his usual morning jog, and while he would never usually allow this to happen — would never accept situations that interrupt his early morning schedule, his heart still begins to cave the longer he stares at Sousuke. He knows the raven probably isn’t 100% awake yet, and that only makes it all the more endearing, that he would tug Rin back to bed; his heart drums slowly, as he allows himself to further lean against Sousuke, back against chest, half spooning as his head plops onto an uninjured shoulder. Each breath he takes is easy and calming, and his ears buzz with the quiet morning chirps of the birds, and the crickets, and their exhaled breaths that come in succession with each other, and his heartbeat is too loud in his ears — but it doesn’t beat quick and fast, like the love stories always say, and his stomach is not filled to the brim with butterflies. Instead, he absorbs the warmth that emits from Sousuke’s ever sturdy, ever supportive self, lets it spread throughout his veins as his lips widen into a grin, hidden from view.
“You better appreciate this. It’s a once in a lifetime thing.” Of course, Rin doesn’t mean that — once in a lifetime, his ass. He’d probably cave anytime the other asks him to. They’re dorks like that, but Rin would never admit it even over his old, dead, wrinkled body ( that hopefully would lie by Sousuke’s side ).
Letting his eyes slip close, he then quiets down, lips pressing together as his shoulders relax in Sousuke’s hold. It’s still early, anyway … He can afford another few hours of sleep. When cuddled under a blanket and in stilling silence; where the sun hasn’t yet penetrated their curtains and he’s with Sousuke — yeah. What a killer. How could Rin not cave in?
