(i saw other people do this so i thought why not make a jwcc/jwct one too. I'll scrap it if no one's comfortable about it, honest)

the JWCC/JWCT characters in a circus

inspired by @yamlyzz's post

Darius:

ringmaster

he would be so good with his little bedazzled gold top and his ringmaster cane

and a top hat hell yeah give him a top hat

he’s volunteer/participant in a lot of the others’ acts

does excellent narration/audience patter that has everyone super engaged. he’s especially good with the little kids, assuring them that the animals they train/perform with aren’t scary at all

Brooklynn:

acrobat — best at trapeze but can do aerial silks and hoops too

contortionist. she is freakishly flexible. everyone fears for her joints

her limb difference is not that big of a deal because she can still hold a handstand with one hand easily. it adds to the drama honestly

ribbon dancer as a secondary discipline

sparkliest leotards

does lifting/dance duets with Kenji. she’s super small and pretty light so she’s very throwable

blows kisses and smiles to the audience

Yaz:

acrobat — aerial silks, hoops, trapeze, everything

hoop dancer

does tumbling as well

does not acknowledge the audience at all. they’re just a distraction

decently flexible

refuses to wear the skimpy skintight clothes. the circus would’ve dropped her if she wasn’t so talented

has the most amazing acrobat routine with Sammy. think of Anne and Phillip’s duet in the greatest showman (rewrite the stars)

(in universe she probably went to an aerial silk class with Sammy and tried to recreate that scene, and it went pretty well)

Sammy:

animal tamer

no question

she makes sure all the animals are cared for and fed. she’s snuck them food when she feels like they aren’t getting enough

she also rides horses and does jumps

Ben has to beg her to do tricks where the animals jump through or over fire, promising they’ll be super careful

knows some basic aerial tricks, has performed with Yaz a few times (←psst there’s art there!!!)

Kenji:

juggler

you can’t tell me he wouldn’t effortlessly throw stuff around with a little cheeky grin when he pretends to mess up/drop something, only to catch it easily

actually a decent dancer and can do tumbling as well

as flexible as Yaz (she hates this fact)

does a dance with Ben where they throw fire around each other

what little Kenji lacks in actual talent, he more than makes up for in charm and crowd charisma

greatly enjoys the sparkly skintight costumes he gets to wear

does lifting/dance duets with Brooklynn, the base of all lifts

Ben:

fire eater

general fire tricks

at a circus i once went to, one guy literally got out a flamethrower as part of the dance and i instantly went ‘yep, that’s Ben’

same guy lit a big circle of metal on fire and spun it around himself. also very Ben

wears the most basic outfits but no one notices because iS THAT GUY SPINNING FIRE AROUND HIMSELF???

Dave:

clown

also no question

he can also juggle. he taught Kenji everything he knows

general supervisor of the camp fam

Roxie:

manager of everything

possibly the old ringmaster before Darius took over

i could also see her doing and teaching dance

the kids go to her and Dave when they have a problem. they’re basically the kids’ work parents

(the kids are adults, Dave and Roxie just call them kids cos they seem so young to them)

Mae:

animal tamer support

also very gentle on them and good at keeping them looked after

handles the admin/organisational stuff

she and Ronnie are the kids’ work aunts. literally, they call them auntie Mae and aunt Ronnie

Ronnie:

also animal tamer support

handles equipment stuff

it seems like she and the other adults don’t do a lot but the whole operation would fall the fuck apart without them

all four of them also move the equipment on/off stage

Soyona (she and handler are not part of the same circus as the others):

acrobat. strong on flexibility, and extremely good at holding shapes still, barely even wobbling

she performs with a scary intensity, making her known as the marble statue

i can also see her dancing

ringmaster, but everything she wears is white

canon semi typical argument with her training the raptors with the laser vs the whistle, which is what caused her and the Handler to fall apart

Handler:

animal trainer of three atrociraptors

they are terrifyingly clever. she gets them to do mental tricks and games as well as physical ones

she likes toying around with her audience, making her atrociraptors lunge at them. she’s almost been sued for making kids cry
