Male characters do NOT have Eldest Daughter Syndrome
One thing that just REALLY pisses me the FUCK off is when people say characters like dick Grayson have eldest daughter syndrome bcuz no tf he does NOT. Eldest daughter syndrome is inherently defined by FEMALE aspect and gender roles that are oftentimes put on the eldest DAUGHTERS of families. It is the assumption of responsibilities that is thrusted upon older girls who are not even necessarily the oldest in their family, they could be even second or third born but they end up assuming this responsibility. This is not to put down or diminish characters such as Dick Grayson or their struggles and does not make any of their struggles ANY less valid. But dick Grayson and other male characters have eldest SIBLING syndrome, not daughter and I feel like that's a difference not talked about enough.
