i really love uma musume for this. it isn't just inspiration. it's representation. not just the race results or happenings, but the horse's personalities, their relationships with other horses, and their funny quirks. uma musume is a series done made in love to the history of japan (and the world's) history of racehorses.

had a dream i was living in this small town where everything was really far apart and there was nothing to do in town. for some reason the streets were on really elevated ground too, so any businesses there were were located at the bottom of a pretty steep hill a distance from the elevated street. while roaming around town, id find like, a building at the bottom of a hill that just had a big goat in it. or like, a building that supposedly has photocopier machines in it, but the main attraction in it was really this machine that played episodes of this weird show about an evil santa who was in competition with this other mythical holiday figure. santa was kidnapping children from their homes, and so this one kid made a daring attempt to sneak into his workshop to free his friends. as they tried to leave via a portal tho, santa sees them, and gives chase. once theyre back outside, an ambush was lying in wait for santa, and a buncha kids opened fire on him, pelting him with peppermint bullets. however, santa was strong, and could split himself into two, and proved to be a challenging boss fight. in the end tho, the kids managed to destroy santa, whereupon santa's competitor showed up and mocked santa for his failure. seeing another powerful villain appear, the kids ran away
quick test for the design of a character I'm making for a Magical Girl-themed game Jam I'm participating. I tried to only use one hue, and only change saturation and brightness of colors.
She's a mice themed magical girl, with weather related powers. (that's a very obscure reference no one will get.)
I'm still gonna iterate a few time with the design
new test, with the first one in comparison… I think I'm getting somewhere, but it still feel a bit too symetrical
Final version. I replace one glove by a metal gauntlet with gems, and shortened one stocking to add some assymetrie.
I think it look nice, now I'll start working on her partner
