TW: car crash, death. Proceed with caution.
The screeching of tyres echoes across Jennie's garage, making everyone inside turn to look at the entrance, including her and her group of friends.
She instantly recognized the black car. It was Jaebum. The man she'd been having business exchanges for some time now. And with the way he was driving... she was sure it wasn't for a good reason that he came here. Lisa and Jisoo immediately stand up, getting down the stairs of the loft and hesitantly coming behind the car, Jennie was fixing.
Frowning, Jennie steps forward, seeing Jaebum walk, almost charge straight up at her.
'shit he found out' was her first thought.
"Hey, what's up, brother?" she asks, smiling widely, opening her arms for a hug like she always does when she sees him, only for him to take a swing at her, punching her hard, making her grunt in pain.
Clutching at her mouth, she turns around glaring at him darkly. He glares back, shoving her, making her hit the car, "I vouched for you! Put my reputation on the line for you and you turn around and do this? Steal from me? You thought I wouldn't find out?!" he yells into her face, grabbing onto her shirt and jacket, shaking her around like a rag doll.
She gets it. She does. But it's business. It's not her fault Jaebum had a cruel father that thought he was incompetent and picked up on the stolen money that he hadn't.
Jennie finally gathers up her strength to push him away, scowling, "Man, c'mon! We ain't the boy scouts. This is what we do" she says with finality in her voice, reaching up to gently wipe at the blood dripping down get chin.
Maybe that was the wrong thing to say. She can see how Jaebum's face shifts from betrayal and anger to pure rage. In one swift movement, he pulls the gun from the back of his pants, pointing it at her head with a sarcastic snarl.
At the sight of the gun everyone in the garage ducks down, hiding behind tables and chairs while Lisa and Jisoo rush down the small flight of stairs. Which isn't a good thing either.. considering Jisoo is his ex and dumped him for Jennie...
'I'm fucked now' she thinks to herself, observing, how Jaebum's eyes brim with tears, and a vein starting to make itself visible on his sweaty forehead.
Jennie gulps, as he turns to her again, taking the safety off of the gun, his eyes now betraying the hurt and numb state of his heart. "How about now, hm? Is this what we do?" he asks, voice low and menacing, as he takes a step forward, pressing the nozzle of the gun against the centre of her head.
She refuses to say anything to him. She's too prideful to beg for him to put the gun down. She's sure her bloody lips have twisted in a scowl, as they always do.
In the brief moment that Jaebum and Jennie stare into each other's eyes before the garage door falls, trapping Jaebum's car, distracting him and giving Jennie enough time to punch him, making the gun fall, clattering on the ground.
Lisa pulls Jisoo to her car, already driving away to get away from Jaebum, knowing he will inevitably hunt all of them down. Jennie does the same, immediately getting into her car and driving after the girls, peeking at the rear-view mirror just in time to see Jaebum steal a car from her collection.
Jennie sighs, grimacing at the mess that started. She should've been smarter about it. But she just had to get caught-
"Ugh-!" she exclaims, as her head collides with the steering wheel harshly. Looking through the mirror she briefly sees Jaebum behind her, holding up the gun out through the window, aiming at her. In the back of her head, she cursed herself for forgetting to wear a seat belt, it's too late to reach for it now.
Eyes wide, Jennie steers to the right, avoiding the first shot of the gun, loudly cursing at him before his car hits hers sending her swerving down the street, while she frantically tries to control the car I'm heading onto incoming traffic.
"shit!" she yells to herself, eyes widening further and mouth gaping in disbelief as she sees the huge crowd ahead of her, crossing the road.
Without even thinking about it she hits the breaks, pulling on the gear stick, making the car turn to its side, effectively splitting the crowd in half as it drifts pasts.
Upfront she watches Lisa's car get hit by one of Jaebum's friend that arrived just now making her clench her jaw but sigh in relief as she watches them come to a safe stop-
Distracted for a moment is enough to lose control of the wheel as another vehicle comes out of nowhere, T-boning her and leaving her car to flip in the air, crashing down on the road harshly and landing on its roof.
Shocked, Lisa and Jisoo immediately get out of the car, too frozen to even go and help the girl.
But it's too late for her.. the crash has wounded her head badly, leaving her writhing in pain, blood flowing on her skin as she tries to somehow move out of the car.
It's too hard.. too hard to breathe, too hard to move, too hard to keep her eyes open. She can feel herself shiver from the strong smell of the gasoline and the warmth of the flames on the dash licking at her skin, scathing her, while she desperately tried to hold back her tears of pain-
Seeing the movement snaps Lisa up from her daze and rushes to the car to help and she's so close... too close when the car explodes in her face, throwing her back down on the asphalt and leaving her unconscious.
A phone rings on the other side of the world.
A man picks it up. "Lee Taeyong. You don't know who I am, but you're about to find out. My condolences for your friend." is all the voice says before letting the phone drop on the floor and then stepping on it, affectively crushing it to bits.
