i need some advice on which style to choose for my vn

so my visual novel is sorta set in a game. so the player (you) get warped into a game and you need to find out how to get out while also playing making sure you don’t give yourself away

the catch is that someone close to you put you in the game so you can remember something.

anyways i’m wondering which style fits more. i like them both but im also into the one on the right because it gives retro game aesthetic but that means ill have to redo kai’s sprites over again.

hi anon i’d love to answer your questions!

1. i never thought where he would be from or the set place mc is in. i’d like to say he’d follow mc wherever they went so it’s up to the player’s interpretation.

2. kai is 21 years old! old enough to drink 🥳🥳

the three outfits we see kai in. doing all his different faces and the three outfits took 7 hours. pretty proud of myself. though i still need to draw three more characters and their sprites.

i underestimated how long making a vn would take when doing it by myself. i do all the drawing, coding, and scripting. i usually do scripting while coding but plot out what usually happens for each option or route.

i’m just rambling since it’s my blog and i don’t have anyone to talk with about it. please ask me question about it. i really need more motivation lol.
