Monday, 18-09-2023 We Sailed at Dawn We woke up early Monday morning, and the weather was fabulous, so we set out as soon as we could. And We're Off...
Our first day cruising the Oxford Canal in our hired narrowboat, we’re officially Yanks Afloat.
Saturday, 16-09-2023 Logistics: We needed to travel from the hotel in Warwick to Napton Marina, where we were picking up the narrowboat. Our plan was to book Castle Cars, the taxi service we used the day before, to run us out to the marina. But we had some difficulties with the phone, so the nice lady at reception arranged a cab for us.

When I was in middle school my best friend introduced me to Monty Python. She spent a year living in Manchester, England, and I thought that was so cool. I had never been outside the United States, and I will be forever grateful for that introduction to British comedy. Eddie and I left Nashville last Thursday afternoon (September 14th), arrived in Manchester early the next morning, and managed to find our way via train to Warwick, which is close to Napton Narrowboats where we picked up our home for the week, 49’ narrowboat Megan, on Saturday afternoon.
