2020 Fundraising for Shinhwa’s Eric’s Birthday

What a better and more meaningful birthday gift and a gift of life?

As usual, long time fansite, UBEric (Ubiquitous Eric), is doing a fundraising to celebrate his birthday next month. Together with all supporters, we’ve been donating to KCLF (Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation) to celebrate Eric’s birthday each year and 2020 is probably no exception.

There are some prizes for highest contributors so contribute as much as you can. Any question, you can contact UBEric’s twitter or by emails (same as the PayPal email).

“Bad Boy” by 100% was one of the best K-pop debuts of 2012. The song, vocals, choreo; I mean everything was on point. I still listen to regularly. It’s a shame they were never able to top that song.

I’m not sure the original source of the first photo, but the second picture was posted on Dongwan’s blog in 2008 or was it 2007? Inwan is 8 years younger than Dongwan. I think many have seen that Inwan other photo circulating around mid 2000s, so I won’t put it here. I don’t know how many photos of Inwan with Dongwan, but there seems to be another one old photo and of course the link is dead. I can’t still find the magazine interview where Dongwan mentioned Inwan, but few fans said it was during Shinhwa early years. This gonna be hard to find, maybe one day I’ll just stumble upon it or maybe I should search really hard. Dongwan also sent a letter to Inwan on a radio show in 2001, I don’t think anyone has translated it. They never lived together as a family and they don’t hate each other. From Inwan’s old interview he clearly adores Dongwan and they met often. The most recent that I can find about Inwan is his friend posted in 2015 that Inwan is living in Busan. He seems to be doing fine and prefer to keep private. I don’t think he looks similar to Dongwan at all since they’re half siblings, but you can definitely tell that they’re related and Inwan is a good looking guy just like his hyung.

On his old blog, Dongwan said his brother likes steak!

“Shinhwa is a team I want to meet again even if I was reborn”

Their affection for a team they have stood by for 20 years was more special than expected. This is the story of group Shinhwa, who are releasing their 20th anniversary special album “Heart” at 6pm on the 28th. Eric, who even went in and out of the courtroom to protect the team’s name, was surprisingly calm regarding the “20 years”. But that is also because “promoting as Shinhwa was just too natural”. We met Shinhwa at Amoris Hall, Youngdengpo Times Square, Seoul before the release of “Heart”.

Q: This year is your 20th anniversary since your 1998 debut. How does it feel? Eric: We have promoted without a break. It feels really special. I would like to thank the members and the fans, and also all the people who work with us. I am grateful that we are still able to release albums and perform on stage.

Q: What does the album title “Heart” mean? Hyesung: Just like a heart that never stops beating, Shinhwa will continue on. We are often asked, in the past 20 years, “What does Shinhwa mean to the members?”, and there was once when Minwoo said, “Heart”. Even 20 years after our debut, our hearts still flutters with excitement when we stand on stage to meet the fans, so we chose that as the title.

Q: How did “Kiss Me Like That” become the title track? Minwoo: We choose the title track while considering the performance. This song was chosen because we thought of choosing something with a performance and song that only Shinhwa could pull off. My affection for the song grew while recording, choreographing and filming the music video for this song.
