Cutting ties

Summary- in which Liam is no longer under control, and you take it upon yourself to shut his boss down.

Warnings- death threats and being shot/grazed with a bullet

The look on her face didn't feel right; blue eyes wide, mouth slightly agape. It looked right, so what was wrong? She wouldn't set him free until the money was in her account. It was a weird experience when she finally let him go; her expression shifted from shock, allowing her eyes to soften and a small smile to grace her face, and for that moment, she didn't seem as scary.

"Liam, pack your shit," was the last thing she ever told him as she turned away from him and began talking to someone on the phone.

Liam almost cried; he said thank you, voice breaking in several places, and even though he pretended like it never happened, when you hugged him, you could feel liquid trail down your back as he choked on his sobs. And as you gaze at him now, the content and gentle smile that rested on his face as he slept made your heart warm, but soon your mind began to wonder about the stories Liam told you, the things she made him do while he was under her thumb.

Rage flooded your mind, and the rest was a blur, so now here you stood in front of her door, and any courage you had to confront her with seemed to have evaporated the moment you were at her doorstep, but before you could turn away the door swung open, and for a moment you'd thought she'd moved.

"Kai, you have a guest," he called out; his voice seemed to rattle you, his skin had a golden tan, hair bleached blonde black roots showing, his face bruised, nose broken. He stepped aside to let you through, and when you walked in, she swiveled around in her chair to look at you.

"Ah, (y/n), it's been a while; how have you been?" she looked excited to see you as she walked over to hug you.

"Thin crust, right?" the man asked.

"Yeah, and buy a two litter," she told him, pulling away from you to sit in her desk chair.

"Of?" she picked at the polish on her nails.

"whatever you want, im not in the mood for anything in particular," he then shut the door and left, as she quickly turned her attention back to you, "come to check out the new puppet?" she said with a giggle and a smirk.

"Stop acting like we're friends," the expression on her face seemed to melt away, replaced with a chilled look and a blank stare as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"Okay, business means business, so why are you here? Wanna buy Jackie off my hands like Laim?" her tone was cold, laced with annoyance.

"I want you to stop," you managed to sound more confident than you looked as she shot you a puzzled look.

"Stop wh-"

"I'm pretty sure you have more victims, and with theirs and the police's help, I will take you down. I'm giving you a choice to stop this now without all that," she looked at you like you were crazy as she tried to stifle a laugh.

"The police won't do shit, nor will these so-called victims. They knew what they were getting into when the forms were signed. It's just that some people are so desperate for money that they dont care to read them. I could take it up with the courts; it's nice of me to give them away to pay them off," she walked past you and into the kitchen; you heard her open the fridge, and glass hit glass.

"That's bull, and you know it; what you are doing-" you were pushed forcefully to your knees, a cylinder pressed to your head.

"your new to this game, so let me give you a tutorial." a click sounded through the room, and your heart began to pound in your ears. "You sign the contract, get the money, you then pay off the money, you are no longer in doubt, and then you dont talk about it." panic swelled in your body, voice like a chilled blade creeping up your spine. "Liam did something he wasn't supposed to do; that gives me every reason to kill him; maybe, I'll throw you in as a bonus. I won't hesitate; I've only done it once, and I hate to say it, but your not them, so here's your final warning,"

Your body went into shock as searing pain spread across your shoulder. Shakily you brought your hand up to touch your shoulder, it stung at first, but when your fingers touched the liquid, tears began to well up in your eyes. You didn't even know she had left the room till she tossed down a gauze bandage and some rubbing alcohol in front of you.

"What's all this-"

"fix yourself up and get out of my house," she cut you off with a glare. The rest of the night was a complete blur; nothing even registered till you realized you were home as you collapsed onto the couch. Liam peered over at you, leaning on crossed arms as he gave you a pitiful smile.

"Hey you, I thought you were asleep," you smiled up at him as best you could.

"Don't be stupid. I wasn't supposed to tell you what I told you, but I just needed someone to talk to. Just leave kaya alone," Liam's eyes glossed over as tears began to well as he reached down to clasp your hand in his, "I dont want her to come after us. This is the happiest I've been in my entire life, and I love you too much to let go of you now, so please, just leave her be," He began to sob and wail as his grip tightened on it; with your other hand, you placed it on top of his head as you pulled him into you and let him cry.

"I'll leave her alone," you muttered into his hair, placing a kiss on the top of his head, "Let's go back to bed,"

A/n- this takes place before kaya, also just Liam simping so bad

The aroma of coffee and baked goods drifted about the peaceful cafe; rain poured down on those below as they scrambled to avoid it. Their fingers pitter-pattered across the table in impatients, head rested in their hand as they gazed out into the endless gloom. With a hurtful nudge to his ribs, Liam's attention shot over to his coworker, a graceful smile resting on her face as she stuck her tongue out at him; he glared.

"Not funny, Maxine," voice low as he growled.

"I thought it was funny, 'sides shouldn't you be working rather than gawking at customers, even if it is a slow day," she whispered.

"How could I not have you seen them," he turned his attention back to them as Maxine rolled her eyes at his behavior.

"(y/n), your orders ready," she called out; into the comfortable silence. They glanced at the pickup station; it felt like they were looking right at Liam. Heart pounding in his chest as (y/n) began to walk towards Laim, picking up their order and walking back towards their table. "Liam, are you okay?" Max looked at him in concern, his face was red, and he could have sworn his heart was beating out of his chest, eyes refusing to leave you.

"No, dont ever think I will be, but that's okay," He said, practically breathless.

The rain got heavier, and the clouds got darker. The warmth and pale colors of the cafe contrasted with the cold, gloomy outside. Small groups of people scattered throughout the establishment to avoid the rain. Liam felt eyes on him as he moved about, but when he looked out, everyone was minding their own business. It wasn't till he went on break that he noticed them. They were still there; he walked towards their table, sitting across from them.

"you okay you've been here for quite a bit," they looked at him with a bit of shock, only for it to melt away into a smile.

"I guess you could say no. I was stood up and then caught in the rain,"

"You stood up? Impossible," he replied quickly, before realization hit him, blood rushing to his face, "what I meant to say was, are you sure it's not a mix-up or something?" his face was beet red as he began to doubt his life decisions; his embarrassment worsened when they let out a slight laugh.

"yeah, I'm sure. They're not answering my calls or text, and they knew we were supposed to meet up today," Liam nodded with a hum, "on the bright side, there's this cute guy that works here," hurt flashed in his eyes; he turned his attention to his coworkers at the counter.

"Really, which one?" they laughed again.

"He's sitting right in front of me," Liam's face flared up.

"Oh... well, you've got good taste in men," he muttered with a slight stutter, " if you want, you can borrow my umbrella,"

"Trying to get rid of me already," they pouted.

"No, it's just, it's supposed to rain all night, and I figured you wouldn't wanna be stuck here till close. I would totally walk you home or to your car if you wanted me to, but I still have a few hours left of my shift," Liam rubbed the back of his neck.

"Thank you," Liam smiled at them.

"I'll be right back," he walked towards the back room; when he got back, umbrella in hand, Liam looked at them for what would probably be the final time, "Here," they gave him a smile, and he could feel his heart melt.

"Again, thank you... You should, um, give me a call sometime," they walked out of the establishment, and Liam stood there dumbfounded for a moment. He when back to their table, finding a napkin with their number on it; Liam completely turned to jello gripping the table to regain his balance.

Is in a full stage of panic nothing kaya has made him do has prepared him for this.

Kaya has abandoned him and he has no idea what to do.

If he stumbles upon you zombified, he’ll try to reason with you (might get eaten in the process)

How they’d hold your hand based on this ask I got awhile back.

Marcus- holds your hand tightly, might have to tell him if it's too tight, very reluctant to hold your hand at first.

Travis- his hand always seems to make it towards your wrist, kinda like how a card child holds their parent's wrist, very loose and he will tighten his grip if jealous.

Vrisk- will almost always try to hold your hand doesn't wanna let go, low key afraid you might disappear on her.

Aiden- doesn't do hand-holding often, it's always an arm around your waist or your arms are linked together, when he does hold your hand he has a firm grip on it.

Liam- any time you guys go out anywhere his hand always seems to gravitate towards yours, gives you a small slime when he interwinds your fingers together.

James- takes every chance he can get to hold your hand, whether you are at the office with him or he's home doing paperwork he always grasping your hand might kiss each of your knuckles if he has to let go.

Kaya- will only hold your hand if she's relaxed, tired, or laying down. Is very lazy when holding her hand very loose grip like she doesn't wanna hold your hand but she'll do it for you, reuses to hold your hand right, two fingers around your wrist while the rest lay in your hand, three fingers laying on your veins.

Summary- Marcus has to head into work early and for a second lost some of his self-control.

His alarm echoed and blared in his ears; having to get up this early was a sin, but his client offered to pay him extra, so in the meantime, it was worth it. Marcus rose to the edge of the bed, pushing his feet onto the tile, turning off the alarm before it awoke you. He glanced over at your sleeping face, almost regretful; he couldn't spend the day with you as he promised.
