i like to think as ciel gets older, he and sebastian care less and less about appearing "normal" to the public. if it were different times, they could be mistaken for a married couple. ciel holding sebastian's arm, sebastian hand-feeding ciel finger food, sebastian sliding a protective arm around ciel's waist mid-conversation. they act like its completely normal, despite everyone around them being bewildered and scandalized. sebastian and ciel can't bring themselves to care what anyone else thinks. they're too obsessed with each other to even notice other peoples' reactions half the time
