I was going to let the Tegoshi business rest for awhile because it’s really exhausting. However, @dangomay pointed to a part of an interview Tegoshi did for Wink Up 2020.01, the last one that featured him. Ironically, even though I have almost every issue of every magazine I only got Massu’s part of that one. Anyway, what’s interesting is that in this issue Tegoshi looks back on his career by looking at old Wink Up photoshoots. The most interesting part is when he talks about the issue 2013.12, which came out shortly after the 10th Anniversary concert (and incidentally just when I joined the fandom). His comment is very relevant now so I decided to translate.

There was also the photoshoot we did as 4 while eating as we shot the 10th Anniversary special. To be honest, at the time I thought about leaving NEWS. I was unable to like the band and I didn’t even want anyone to think that our relationship was good. (laugh) But now of course I like the members. But if you put together a group all sorts of things happen. But when I said to the 3 “I want to quit” we were able to talk earnestly. We talked a lot, I felt that I was really needed and loved and I remained. I thought “Let’s try harder”. Now my goal is to make STORY a success. And if that comes true, I would like to get involved in Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Also, I would like to become the power of Johnny’s Entertainment. The fact that now my life is fun every day is thanks to Johnny-san, so I would like to give something back. I also think in the future it would be nice to produce Johnny Jrs or train my kohai.

Revealing a treasure photo made after the photoshoot for the October issue of “Biteki” was over!

“Shige is scribbling on Tegoshi’s foot! Wanting Tegoshi to know how ticklish it was, (Koyashige did it to each other for the photoshoot) with a satisfied face Shige grasped him firmly. The main point is the look of Tegoshi unable to say anything.

They also showed the footage of Tegoshi filming his dumb VTR. I can’t believe he did all that shit with a straight face and didn’t even blush. Well, the cameraman probably did though. Also, that ancient Tegoshige pic had absolutely no reason to be there. The editor is totally one of us.

2020.01.23 ダウンタウンDX Shige

Kato-san was on Downtown DX and the episode was dedicated to cooking and his boyfriend Tegoshi-san appeared in the VTR. First he talked about why Shige started to cook, which is because he was too shy to talk to delivery people. Then Tegoshi said that unlike him, Koyama and Massu don’t really eat Shige’s cooking. The reason for that being that Shige’s cooking is too complicated and exquisite for them. That bitch. He proceeded to talk about Shige’s umeboshi and how Shige needs to bring more when it runs out because without it his body feels heavy. Shige’s face was very soft he whole time. He said he does make half of his umeboshi for Tegoshi.
