For me personally there is ONLY one response and by extension my attitude when either the economy tanks OR things take a turn for the worst in my life.
And it is the exact same response that i have seen both of my Billionaire mentors exhibit.
And what is the magical response?
It is to ADVANCE and CONQUER, no matter how dire your business or personal circumstances.
The advance and conquer strategy is ALL about being the absolute best at what you do regardless of the external situation.
It is about ensuring that no matter what, you show up EVERY day, and commit to doing massive amounts of activity, ABOVE and BEYOND what is considered normal.
It is about planning your day so effectively that you’re able to double or triple your calls.
It is about creating a strategy that enables you to follow up each call with an email to get at least two touch points with each client per day.
Grant Cardone in his book If Your'e Not First, You're Last takes this advance and conquer strategy to the extreme, when he advises that you ask yourself:
“how would I think, move, act and speak differently if I had 24 hours left to live unless I closed a sale by the end of the day?”
I am prety sure that there would probably be a much greater sense of urgency than if you thought you had 20 years left to live.
Here's the secret about the Advance and Conquer strategy.
If you want to get the most out of it,
it is necessary to be absolutely deliberate about the actions that you will take each day, AND you have to be obsessed with focussing your thoughts into doing everything you can to complete them.
Personally, i have found that the times in my business and life where I get the most done and end up feeling best about myself, are the times when I actively take control of my mind by scheduling the most important actions that need to be done for the day,
AND then COMMITTING 100% to doing everything I can to complete them rather than leaving my day to chance.
In the book Grant suggests that people don’t do things like sleep, watch TV, take long lunches or gossip, worry about problems, or what others think, because they are lazy,
but people do those things BECAUSE they lack a commitment to a power schedule.
After all, when you have other places you have to be, and DON'T have time for those things, well then you just don't do them.
A great way to start living the Advance and Conquer strategy is by asking yourself these questions:
What time will you go to bed at night and what time you will get up? What wasteful actions am I currently involved in? How do I spend my weekends? How am I spending my time after work? Are these activities adding to my confidence and the way I feel about
