Tell them a certain disease runs in the family

Tell them alcoholism runs in the family and who and why

Tell them mental illness runs in the family and who and what and why

Tell them drug addiction runs in the family

Don’t let your kids grow up blind. Face issues blind. Don’t let them grow up thinking they are the only ones.

My parents did both of this for me. Anger management, addiction, alcoholism, 3 types of cancers, depression, and diabetes run through my family. Because of this knowledge I not only know to avoid those things but I also am aware of what might happen in my body.

We’ve got quite a few people with cancer in my family and my mom recently had a tumour found that was for the most basic stage of cancer. Then there’s the alcoholism/addiction and depression. It’s good to know what you’re up against
