Heey just wanna come on here because I have a bit of a concern. I’ve been playing Heartopia recently, and I’ve enjoyed how similar it feels to other cozy sims like Stardew Valley.

That being said, I do have some concerns about how similar the music is to another game we all know and most like: Genshin Impact.

THIS IS ALLEGED BTW, NOT MAKING AN ACCUSATION, just pointing out what I noticed).

I can’t be the only one who’s noticed, right?

There’s a point when you’re just chilling near the suburbs but in the forest areas, where a song starts to play. And it is quite literally, the Mondstat city theme. If you’ve played both games, you were probably able to tell at once like me. The instruments, melody, and rhythm are almost exactly the same (specifically, Bustling Afternoon in Mondstat is the most obvious).

I have similar suspicions about the rest of the tunes in the game, because they all sound kind of familiar. The game’s soundtrack sounds like a mish mash of things I’ve already heard, that don’t really make cohesive sense together as a particular game’s iconic soundtrack (in other words, they don’t sound like they were composed by the same people for this specific game, there doesn’t seem to be a logic to it). My theory is that they used AI for the music too, and not only for the puzzles and translation like they state.

I’ve really enjoyed the game since I started playing early this week, it’s helped me unwind and just chill trying to build a nice home. But I am concerned that they’re kind of shooting themselves in the foot by “copying” features and sounds from other games.

The game can stand on its own as a cozy sim I think, it has a nice cute sort of pastel aesthetic, low polygon forms, and a very complete building system, among other things. If they added more to the story and world building, and perhaps one more hobby (ceramics, for example), and the choice to form bonds with npcs, it’d really stand out amongst other free sims currently available for tablets and phones.

I just wish the soundtrack actually felt like Heartopia’s soundtrack.. and not like a mish mash of Genshin’s.

3 days since I started watching One Piece, after years of avoiding it because I didn’t like the art style.

Dude this shit is so good. I respect Oda’s writing so much, cuz the consistency and foreshadowing is nuts for something of such a great length.

Normally I don’t make posts like this, however I fear this needs to be heard. We are running out of clean drinking water. In 13 years we will have run out. Currently, over 2 billion people do not have access to clean drinking water. In order to help fight against generative AI and overuse of water, please limit/stop generative AI use. Generative AI is taking from clean water reserves worldwide in order to generate texts, images and videos. Instead of talking to a character bot, write/read some fanfiction. Instead of using ai to draw a photo, teach yourself or use an irl refrence. Help fight against AI and stop it from taking what makes us all human- our own mind and artwork.
