paul easily waved away her apology with a simple gesture of his hand. “having everything in it’s proper place does not mean i or the church is not ready. but, please,” he said, motioning for the woman to come sit in one of the pews. “it’s not unusual for many to shun church until they need it. in the end, that is it’s purpose — to fulfil when need is had. if you would like, i could pray with you for this friend. a single voice is powerful, but so are two doubly so,” he offered, a soft smile on his lips. “is your friend ailing? perhaps, if possible, i could go visit them. i am no stranger to house calls,” he continued, a light laugh escaping him.
penelope couldn’t help but to feel a bit guilty when he said people shunned the church until they needed it. and that’s exactly what she did. after her parents death she shunned it, and yet here she was coming to beg for it’s help after turning her back. when he offered to pray with her she nods her head taking her set in the pew a small smile on her face. “that would be really nice- i would like it a lot for you to pray with me,” when he offered to se her friend she smiled at the kindness. “that is very kind of you thank you - he’s not in sparkwood right now so i don’t think that would be possible. but your offer means the world to me.”
