i cannot believe that this person’s ‘proof’ of ai usage the whole time was essentially: omg this person has a WRITING STYLE? a certain NARRATIVE they like to follow and push? and certain PHRASES/WORD PATTERNS they use across multiple fics?

damn, it’s almost like all those fics were written by the same person who has developed a writing style across the years, enjoys using certain narratives, and has picked up writing ticks/phrases they like to use for impact over time…

authors are being crucified for… being authors?? this whole situation is horrible and has been extremely stressful for the authors involved. this is supposed to be a fun hobby that we, the readers, simply benefit from!

i really hope we learn from this and that some people can get off of their ridiculously high horse and stop pointing fingers for their five seconds of fame.

this sets a horrific precedent for anyone new to the fandom/tumblr, please know it’s really not like this all of the time. most of us manage to live harmoniously in our own little bubble side-by-side, enjoying each other’s creations instead of scrutinising them.

just making sure this gets into the tag because the actions of this account are extremely worrying — anons are now going to them with different fics and they are simply just giving their opinion and we’re all apparently supposed to take this as gospel?

literally WHO are they to be the ultimate judge of whether something is ai generated or not? i am begging you guys to use your own critical thinking skills here and not blindly follow someone’s unfounded and baseless claims!

i understand ai is scary and we all want to avoid any works that may have used it, but this is not the way to go about it! witch-hunting like this will forever change the face of our fandom — new writers will never be able to test out writing fic and experienced ones will be scared to death of being called out on it…

have your own personal doubts, fine — don’t interact with that fic/author, that’s your right — but it is NO ONE’S place to be some sort of ‘ultimate judge’ as to whether something is ai or not if there is no damning proof! 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

sorry, who gives you the right to decide that someone has used AI in their works or not??

publicly accusing people like this is absolutely horrible, as an author myself i would be devastated if someone did this to me and discredited all my hard work.

there is absolutely no way to know for certain that somebody has used ai in their works or not, you are just spreading misinformation (your own opinion) and putting these poor authors in a horrible position where they are forced to defend themselves from baseless accusations.

forcing people out of fandom like this (maybe newer authors, people just trying their hand for the first time) or even discouraging more experienced authors by putting them through adverse experiences like this seems ridiculously counterproductive. what exactly are you trying to achieve?
