When we use elk antler sheds on the tops of our rings we usually cut into the center to get to the core of the shed. We decided to try to something different and utilize the outside of the antler this time. Like our normal elk antler rings we sanded, polished and buffed the top to maximize smoothness and comfortability. Let us know if you like this idea or not. We try to empathize how much work goes into or designs. That being said we wanted to share an inside look at some rings mid production. These rings are 1/3 of the way through production. These rings have been glued and shaped, they now require tops shaped as well as sanding the entire ring. We go through multiple grits of sanding to bring the rings to their smoothest state. After that they are soaked in our non-toxic custom oil blend. This process requires a 24 hour soak/24 hour dry, as well as an additional week of dipping and drying to cure our jewelry with a rich luster and smooth feel.
