to  US,  ryker  says;  jaehwa  has  to  pretend  his  heart  doesn’t  FLUTTER  at  the  sound  of  that,  choosing  to  drown  feelings  instead  in  the  taste  of  green  grape  soju  on  his  tongue.  "big  baby.”  he  reprimands  him  but  without  any  malice,  his  own  chopsticks  picking  at  the  food  he’s  begun  to  pile  up  on  his  plate.  but  thoughts  that  cloud  judgement  pause  at  the  sight  of  chicken  offered  up  to  him,  barely  ghosting  his  lips  before  he  stares  up  at  the  other  with  expression  unreadable.  “you’re  ––”  ridiculous,  but  word  falls  on  tongue  at  the  sight  of  ryker’s  contact  close,  TOO  close  …  but  he  encloses  lips  ‘round  food  offering,  eye  contact  never  leaving  ryker’s  gaze  when  he  swallows  until  he  finally,  finally  turns,  opting  for  another  shot.  “you  can  try  your  best.”  jaehwa  murmurs  instead  in  between  a  mouthful  of  food  ––  though  he  does  offer  him  the  plate  of  cheese  sticks  in  response.  “but  i  make  no  promises.”

smug smile crosses cheeky expressions at the sight of jaehwa accepting his offer of chicken , lip finding home between the bite of teeth as the depth of mirrored orbs captivated him. digits eventually pull away to fumble with their own serving of food , slipping cheesy buldak past lips and humming with satisfaction at the plate of cheese sticks being pushed in his direction. “ oh ? i should be on my best behavior then , ” reaching for a napkin , ryker playfully dabs the corners of the opposite’s lips and chin , ridding of very minor food remains that stained upon skin. “ so messy , ” he teases in a soft breath as head shakes , soon following suit with homme’s actions and fixing himself to another round of shots. “ what do you say we go clubbing after this ? ” brim of shot glass is clinked against the others as he holds jaehwa’s gaze , throwing back soju with little to no hesitance. “ it’s been awhile since we spent a proper night out —— that is if you’re able to walk straight after dinner. ”

“is  that  a  CHALLENGE  ?”  eyes  go  bright  with  amusement,  thoughts  already  swimming  in  head  about  proving  the  other  was  nothing  if  not  a  BIG  TALKER  (  even  if  part  of  him  knew  there  was  some  truth  to  the  other’s  taunting  ).  he  offers  a  small  bow  in  thanks  as  the  waiter  rings  up  piles  upon  piles  of  steaming  food,  taking  to  filling  a  plate  with  their  variety  of  dishes  before  sliding  it  ryker’s  way.  “for  my  BENEFACTOR  of  the  night.”  jaehwa  all  but  coos,  corner  of  lips  tilting  up  in  a  teasing  smile  as  he  begins  to  make  his  own  plate.  he  turns  toward  the  camera,  throwing  up  a  peace  sign,  a  deadpanned  “ryker’s  an  idiot.”  before  opening  one  of  the  soju  bottles,  pouring  generous  amounts  into  each  other’s  shotglasses.  “tell  me  if  you  start  craving  the  cheese  sticks,  and  maybe  if  you’re  nice  i’ll  give  you  more.”  jaehwa  proposes,  clinking  his  glass  against  ryker’s.  “to  …  enabling  your  best  friend  to  skip  out  on  practice.”  

“ competitive on and off the track. i always liked that about you , ” ryker teases as they offer jaehwa a smug grin. “ cheers to us ... and prayers to our livers , ” he scoffs before clinking the brims of glasses and ridding of bitter liquid. once smug expressions turn into a twisted pout , tongue poking out to taste soju remains upon lips as he pours them another round for after their meal. “ maybe if i’m nice ? i’m spending the night spoiling you ! i think i deserve at least one extra cheese stick , ” orbs playfully roll back at the comment , eagerly picking away at the food served to him and settling first with a mouthful of buldak. “ ah fuck —— that’s hot , ” lips mold themselves into an ‘ o ’ shape as he chews , withholding laughter at the impatience of his own hunger. “ say ahhh , ” ryker carefully blows onto a serving of buldak in attempt to cool it down , bringing it up to jaehwa’s lips. “ should i feed you all night like your royalty ? will that score me more cheese sticks ? ”

affection  between  them  runs  frequent  and  NATURAL  ––  it’s  almost  too  normal,  the  way  jaehwa  leans  up  against  ryker  to  hear  him  better  amidst  the  noise,  as  if  his  voice  didn’t  stand  head  and  shoulders  above  the  rest  to  him  anyway.  “oh,  you’re  so  brave.”  sprinter  deadpans,  though  the  smile  on  his  face  softens  when  ryker  pulls  away  to  pull  at  the  chair  he  slides  into  with  ease.  “and  kind,  too.  now  i  almost  feel  bad  for  practically  robbing  you  tonight.”  hands  reach  for  the  menu,  scouring  over  options  before  he  finds  ryker  already  ordering  for  him.  aggravated  sigh  leaves  lips,  cheeks  pink  when  ryker  calls  him  his  date  (  knowing  full  well  he  doesn’t  mean  it  like  that,  like  he  wants  him  to  ).  “and  one  bibimbap,  please.  and  an  order  of  pajeon.  ––  and  two  orders  of  cheese  sticks.  he  gets  dairy  cravings  when  he’s  wasted.”  jaehwa  offers  the  waiter  a  polite  smile,  handing  the  menu  back  to  them  before  turning  over  to  the  other  with  a  smack  on  the  shoulder.  “lightweight  my  ass.”

“ he just knows me so well , don’t you think ? ” ryker flutters eyelashes up at their waiter , confusion written all over their face but nevertheless playing along with his antics. handing over his own menu while offering his thanks , focus turns to fixate back onto his date. “ so violent with me today ! ” he scoffs as elbow moves to playfully nudge him once more , digits moving to rub upon shoulder. “ what ? you’re telling me you’re not a lightweight ? ” laughter rings throughout buzzing space as his head shakes from each side in minor disbelief. “ jae , seriously ? i know i get wasted , but i’ll try to not act surprised when you tap out not even halfway through our first bottle. ” despite how much food they had ordered , time seemed to have pass in the blink of an eye as dishes of food were soon being served to them ( and of course , two bottles of soju ) , many thanks being shared at the sight of steaming plates. “ oh man , this all looks so good , ” hands clasp themselves together as he admires each dish for a quiet moment , swatting away at jaehwa’s hands. “ not yet ! i have to document our night out together , ” cheeky grin tugs at the corners of lips as he snaps a few photos of their table , turning phone camera for some shots of jaehwa. “ say cheese sticks ! ”
