Oh, awesome! Was it the 2003 aplication or the regular one? Either way I I just ticked the box on including the RTP on the 2000 version now, so maybe that could work just as well... Before I share that though, I’ll answer a few questions.

Yeah that’s been a bug before this Chaos Mode business too, kinda like how you’re not meant to skip the Wheel Of Fortune boss fight, but you do . I think that I’d be able to fix that someday, though I’ll be honest when I say I don’t mind it so much when one’s mostly a positive mishap and the other has a work around.

That’s... Huh. I’ll have to look into that. Steel’s response is basically built on switch after switch of what was happened, so maybe something is wrong there.

Yep, pervious saves should work A-okay.

Uhh... so I downloaded the update with Jotaro's cigarette, but the only thing it does upon being used is put me in a dialogue loop, even if Jotaro's not in the party....

Ah damn it. Alright it’s fixed. Sorry about that everyone, forgot to add in the off switch for the event at the very end, making it loop.

7th Stand user (2003)

I’m mostly brainstorming and seeing if I can make a work around for the rtp situation, so I copied everything and moved it on over to the 2003 version, clicked to include it’s rtp, and this is the results:

Everyone’s free to ignore this, but the idea of this is for somebody that doesn’t have the Japanese rtp to open the application and see if it’ll go off without a hitch. While people getting the Japanese rtp isn’t the worst thing in the world, I want to see if I can’t prevent that if it’s possible.

the anon having the direct draw error may need to install windows direct x, i had to install it in order to get the game to run, its needed for a lot of games and emulators, microsoft should have an official download on their website

Thank you all for the kind words, it feels great to have people enjoy this. At this point i’m just fixated on the Janpanese rtp situation. I still don’t really know if people have to go get it or not, and the folks that follow this most likely already have it, so they probably can’t say for sure either.

I managed to install the Japanese RTP files. but when I start the game it give me an error, Rpg_rt: DirectDrawError(DDERR_UNSUPPORTED), Any idea what's causing it, or how to fix it?

Shoot, then try running the game in compatibility mode. You’ll be able to do that by right clicking on the application, clicking on properties, going on the compatibility tab, using windows 8 should work.

Fucking Japanese 2000 rtp, making shit difficult. Even now I still don’t know why it’s needed or why it’s trying to pull that bullshit, but it is. I really want to make it so that people don’t have to go through hoops like this, but I guess it’s unavoidable.

Following these instructions might help you out with that. I thought that the latest version wouldn’t require that, but I guess that’s not the case.

7th Stand User update:

It’s not really a massive update today really, since I added in the ‘Jotaro’s Cigarette’ thing, turns out I was completely overthinking it and looked over where to add it.

Mainly made this post so that I don’t have to keep going back to the first post I made and keep updating it, when chances are some people might not even get that. Overall, from when I first posted a chaos mode update to where it is now, I think everything is going pretty grand, maybe even complete!

EDIT: Right, I think I know why it required to have the Japanese rtp 2000 in order to work, so with the Japanese sound files either gone or in some instances renamed in english, that might solve the problem. I mean, it might, i’m just basing this off of being able to extract it from RPGmaker 2000 without being in Locale Emulator, but I’m not positive if that’s the case since I have the Japanese rtp 2000 on my computer already, you know?

#7th stand user

I'm trying to get the trait where you fall asleep in battles (read about it in the JP wiki) but so far I haven't been able to get it. Is it just me having the worst luck or is it not in the game?

Nah it’s in the game, you just have to keep going for it until you get it.

Hey, thanks for before! Also, I forgot asking this earlier but how do you get Jotaro's cigarette? I'm at Harbor in Chaos Mode but I can't find it. Also I used Google Translate on the wiki but I'm not really sure what to do??

I’ll be honest, I’m kinda lost there too. So far, nothing seems to add the Cigarette item, but apparently it’s supposed to be available when you have Jotaro in your party.

I’m gonna reply to some other questions so that I can feel alright with deleting them, keep stuff tidy.

I tested it on my end and it seemed to work out fine. Sorry pal, but I don’t know what could be causing that.

If i’m understanding it right, if you go to the rooftop play as a different character (Average to Short/ Male to Female for example) then the character on the rooftop will be the you from the last playthrough. You’ll also fight them if you were a huge piece of shit in the last playthrough. Like 8 karma and above.

Nah that’s been a problem since forever, even before Chaos Mode. Plus with how niche and relatively unknown this game is, people knowing about chaos mode getting translated isn’t super likely, if they even know about this game at all. That, and even though it’s a lot more stable than it was in the past, people might still run into problems and troubles.

I don't know why but the "DONT'READIT" ending is bugged. About halfway through it, I get an error message (I think it was "Invalid Event Name") and the game crashes. Dunno if it has something to do with the fact that I put my ver. 2.48 saves in the files or that I had Deus Ex Machina.

Ah son of a bitch, I fixed it. I don’t know why it did it but one of the characters that were supposed to move didn’t so that probably fuck that up. Hopefully this fixes it.

How exactly would you get a Japanese RTP 2000? I changed my windows 10 region to japan after following your instructions, but the game still has the same error. What should I do?

Right, getting the Japanese rtp can be tricky. You can definitely find it out there online, but i’m just gonna have everyone skip that bullshit of searching for it and just put it here.

just curious, but is there any purpose to the stand arrow fragment? it appears to be a consumable item, but doesn't work on anyone as far as i can tell. or is this really just a collectable item?

If I recall correctly, Using the Arrowhead piece on Polnareff while in combat triggers his Requiem, which puts everyone except Polnareff to sleep. I think you lose the skill and the arrowhead once you use it though.

Translations in the Debug Room aren't really the greatest. There are frequent spelling errors, plus some lines exceed the dialogue box.

Yeah I had a feeling, hopefully this helps a bit. In the end, using the translated results word for word might be a flawed approach in some cases, me messing words up doesn’t help either. Still, I don’t know why Clayman compared Utah, Rainbow and Michael to Street Fighter characters. Eh, it’s not a big deal.

Side rant, typing in RPGmaker sucks ass. I admit I’m not so great with my grammar so mistakes, but I fucking despise how there’s nothing that actually tells you if your words are gonna get cut off. It makes it a fucking guessing game outside of two faint vertical dashed lines, one of which is fucking useless and redundant. If RPGmaker had an option so that you could see a window of what the dialogue would look like in game it’d be fucking amazing.

EDIT: I messed up the nickname with the Deep Purple Sun whatever, fixed that, added some club things, and a couple of Stand interactions involving D’arby younger that I found.

Just curious, but you mentioned that some minor things were left out of the translation. What were they?

To be quite honest I kinda forgot, i’m not sure how much is entirely in now, but one thing that I do remember is that there’s some flavor text for the Sun encounter if you have Deep Purple that I didn’t add in. Might get around to that but it’s not a high priority.

Speaking of however, there is a funny interaction at after beating Enyaba if you have Caravan. It requires that you have done the generator quest in Calcutta and are in the Science club, so it’d be pretty easy to miss.

Also you can fight the hospital door when it’s locked instead of getting that key if you stick with Kakyoin at the hospital.

Yeah, sorry I meant Calcutta. As to how, IDK. Rainbow wasn't part of the party in Singapore and when I got to Calcutta she just was the second party member. I did get the whole 7th is copied by Rubber Soul instead of Kakyoin event but that shouldn't have anything to do with Rainbow.

Huh, weird. Welp, it’s a bit silly, but I made an addition now so that it should boot Rainbow out of the party in the train to Calcutta if she’s somehow in there, so theoretically that should work out.
