EPIC masterlist
the cracks of a shadowy vase (ctimene draft)
the plans of a cunning fox (eurymene-ish draft)
may a clay dagger strike the prince (ctimene's rage)
for god knows how much time, i've been trying to make my own content. most of the times i kinda just slip into the cracks of a new fandom and slip out after a few months, and then i just kinda repeat it.
but! thanks to my undying love of mythology, i have finally achieved something that i enjoy.
its a story called La Salamanca. It's based on the myth of the same name from my nation (argentina my beautiful lady) and the story goes that the inca god of the underworld, Zupay offers six people the chance to have a dream of them come true as long as they can survival the trials ahead of them.
each characters is a hybrid or a descendent from a mythological creature and lives on a different time period. like for example
John Doe is a man that is half kelpie, half human. he roams around the southwest of the US during the year 1890. he has no recolection of his past and he constantly wakes up without knowing where he is. his wish? to finally know who he is and where he comes from. also he's a cowboy
Valentina Mulelo is a human girl cursed by a luz mala. she lives in a small christian town in Santiago del Estero and is forced to suck is the souls of its inhabitants to fuel herself. after accidentally killing her parents, she seems to have a special connection to purgatory. also her parents souls constantly roam around her, almost as if they want to stay with her
To everyone who followed me for epic the musical, I am sorry to tell you all that (as you might have realized from the lack of posts) I dropped the fandom. I will be posting original content from now on and those who want to unfollow me can do so with no problem or issue from me!
my boyfriend takes pictures of me when he thinks I look cute. I could be eating the most gross sandwich in a call with him and he could screenshot it because he thinks it’s nice when I smile. Sometimes when I get a new dress he snaps another picture just because he thinks I look happy while wearing it. He uses them as widgets in his phone, and picks the best ones to show them to his family.
modern au where calypso is tied to a family business in a far away island and she is forced to take over it, with no extra time to actually meet anyone outside of her family. pretty much all work, no friends or lovers
modern au where calypso is actually a fanfic writer that is maybe a bit too pushy with ships...
shes a hopeless romantic
modern au where calypso actually meets antinous because he got in a fight with a family member she doesnt like and she goes out of her way to mend his injuries as an act of rebellion against her family and because oh my god its a man
modern au where eurylochus is actually a florist blessed by aphrodite and ctimene constantly buys flowers from him as apologies for the people she beats up. the more she comes, the more she starts to pretend to come in to buy flowers but is actually there to talk to him.
eurylochus starts giving her extra roses or whatever flower you guys can think of that means love, just for her and she starts drying them so she can keep them forever.
modern au where odysseus is blessed by hermes and he has the most op luck ever when it comes to traffic, cars, and crossing the street. he could cross a highway without a single scratch or get on the middle of the pathway of a car and the car would fuckin explode.
hermes hates him for that by the way.
ctimene being blessed by ares and she has the greatest insults that mankind has ever known. she could curse your entire bloodline in one setence. you offend her brother or his wife? she will generate a fight, she will smash a glass bottle and try to kill you with it. she's like a guardian dog that is always looking for a fight
"Awwww I'm so glad Athena and Ody get their reunion!"
Yeah me too, buttt;
I hope Athena winces every time she's out training Telemachus and sees Ody. I hope she sees him standing there, and she smiles, hoping for reciprocation. But all she gets is him crossing his arms, staring at her. She feels the stab of guilt, for leaving him? For abandoning him? For making him think she gave up on him? Maybe, maybe if he just knew that she was the one that fought for him, maybe he would forgive her. But once Tele sees his dad and motions for him to come over, then Ody smiles. He's cordial, but not friendly. Because while he knows Athena would never do anything to hurt Telemachus, he just cant take that risk. He's lost too much, sacrificed too many, for anything, accident or not, to happen to him.
And he knows Athena saved him. He knows he should thank her. But some small part of him cant help but wonder how much different things could've turned out if she'd put aside her pride and helped him. Helped him save more of his men, his comrades, his friends. Then he wouldn't have had to explain to his own sister why she would never see her husband again. Why she would always be waiting. Yes, he got back to his family, but how many wives will never get to see their husbands? How many kids will grow up never knowing who their dad is? How many times is he going to have to answer the question "Why do you deserved to be home and not the rest of them?"
Eurylochus will never have the joy of being a dad.
Polites will never get married.
Ody shouldn't blame her, but he does. Some selfish part of him blames her. And I agree with him.
“Oh the suitor said open arms” “oh a Polites reference” Where is my Eurylochus reference? Is he less important than Polites? Does Odysseus not care about him that much? I NEED MY EURYLOCHUS REGERENCE TOO DAMMIT
as always i have to interrupt everyone’s happiness with angst. So imagine, just imagine, the joy that ctimene felt knowing that her brother was alive and rushing to the palace. Penelope and Odysseus finish their song and the door is immediately slammed opened by Ctimene who throws her hands around Odysseus and hugs him. Only Odysseus can’t hug her back, he just can’t. And Penelope knows, by just looking at her husband, that the phrase “trading friends like objects” meant so much more than she thought. And there is weight in the air as Ctimene pulls out and asks “Where’s Eurylochus?”
Okay but who would she be more upset at when Ody explains to her that Eurylochus is dead after killing a sacred cow on the island of one of the sun gods? Would she be upset at Odysseus for choosing his life over the crews? Or upset at Eurylochus for killing the cattle and causing Zeus to give Odysseus that set of options to pick from? Or would it be a mix of both? She is at first angry at Odysseus for (in her eyes) causing her husband's death; only to slowly realise if Eurylochus had not staged a mutiny and killed the cow, he may have been there to greet her after the war.
I mean, Odysseus didnt shut the fuck up with Polyphemus. So, definitely Odysseus. Besides, Ctimene understands that her husband had gone hungry for days, hell maybe even weeks. It’s Odysseus fault for putting them in that place. Even if it wasn’t, Ctimene is very easy to rage and would definitely defend Eurylochus even if he did the wrong thing.
ok but hear me out. Would You Fall In Love With Me Again but in Ctimene's perspective. As Penelope and Odysseus are having their reunion Ctimene just heard everything from outside the door, and through out the whole song we see her descent into realization that her husband did not in fact come back with him.
Hi yes im gonna write this. I’m gonna tag you on it and I will make everyone suffer.
“Penelope had the chance to fall for her husband, to let the sun shine on her. Yet Ctimene’s husband had to face the shadows and the depths of the ocean, never to face the light of the smile his wife had”

you know i like the idea but given that Penelope and Odysseus hugged in the final song, im not quite sure. I can definitely see the idea that maybe Ctimene was too rough, she pulled him in too quickly, placed her hand on his back and put too much pressure. Maybe Odysseus actually pulls her away, getting maybe just a bit too violent and sending Ctimene to the floor and because he couldn’t hurt calypso (you know because she’s a goddess) Ctimene ends up pretty bruised
exactly, i don’t think he would have too much issue with penelope as he is the one to approach her and is seeing all of her movements towards him, but ctimene coming from behind and roughly pulling him into a hug?
See, you get it! Ctimene has always been a bit rough with Odysseus and they used to play fight a lot. But now, there are only remnants of that and violence is no longer a childhood and naive thing but a real weapon for Odysseus. Ctimene does not know that. I figure that Odysseus would feel too bad, maybe to the point of crying? You know, since he finally has a chance of thinking about his actions without having to jump to another fight I think he would feel so very guilty

i imagine that penelope feels but a least a bit of shock when she walks out of her room and stares at the visera, the blood, the torn heads that are sprawled on her hallways, on her tables. Penelope is strong yes, but how strong can anyone be when they see the remnants of a massacre? Come on people, we all know love tears down mountain, crosses oceans, but you cannot tell me that Penelope wouldn’t stop to stare, to feel just but a bit sick at her husbands’s actions.
