Random Happy

The work has paid off, today I am wearing a Jr’s size 8 pants and the new belt I had to get arrived in the mail today.  I weighed in at 144lbs two days ago, and I’ve pretty steadily been holding this weight. I haven’t taken my measurements, likely not far off from my last set. You may not think going from a 10/12 to an 8 is much or having to switch from a large belt to a medium belt is much, but it’s progress and I am so happy to see it. Everything counts!

Week 23 - First week of January

I’ve had to take several weeks away from working out due to health issues.

I really miss going to the gym. I did try going twice during December, but I was pretty worn out between this whole ongoing, don’t really want to talk about it, issue and work. Results from testing should be back in a few days.

Anyhow, I weighed in at 144 today at my visit, body looks pretty good, I think.

Here’s to the rest of January and getting back into routine at the gym.

Trans/NB related stuff!!

My appointment with my GP went amazingly well. She offered to put me on hormones but I don’t know that this is the correct route for me, at least it isn’t at this time but I reserve the right to change my mind later on.

She gave me a referral to Surgeon Hema Thakar for chest reconstruction, and I have a consultation with her on the 18th of this month. I’m extremely excited and relieved.

Week 18 - Last week of November

I haven’t updated in a while. I’ve had a rough time making it to the gym more than once a week since my last update. I haven’t made any huge gains but I have still improved.

I have a massive imbalance when it comes to how much I can dead lift compared to how much I can squat.

I am still at 175lbs Deadlift, 3 sets, 5 reps. We’re not focusing on this because I need to improve my squat.

I’ve got from my last recorded weight of 65lbs to 85lbs. Definitely an improvement even though I haven’t been able to go in very often.

I’m feeling really good about how my body is changing and only look forward to further changes I see.

Over my time away I “came out” to my managers at work. It’s in quotations because I was never really hiding it, I just never opened up dialogue with them about my name change and exercise routine. They’ve all been super accepting and respectful of the name change and pronoun usage even.

I’ve also got an appointment with my GP this week to discuss things like hormones and top surgery. I put this off for a long time because I am married and hadn’t really shared the scope of my desires with my partner. We finally sat down and had a long discussion about all of these things where I was completely open. He pointed out that I was doing a lot of “I want this. . .now maybe I think I want this” in order to lessen the severity of changes that I wanted when in fact, I should have just let it all out at one time.

He encouraged me to make the appointment, assured me things would be okay. I spent a long time sobbing on his shoulder the other night over how scared I was that I’d loose him. He’s a good guy and I’m truly thankful for how caring and compassionate he is about this.

Slight flex, wanted to see how my back was looking. 

A Recap for anyone who’s just reading for the first time:

I’ve been lifting for nearly three months. At present I’m 145lbs and am l at a 27″ waist, 35″ around chest but this includes breasts at the widest point. I’m 30″ below breasts. I am dead-lifting 175lbs/80kg. Actively working on improving my squat weight, it’s a bit low at the moment. I can only seem to handle about 65lbs but I can only get better with work!

I haven’t talked about my breasts or chest size at all. It’s a sore subject, where I see the bulk of my body dysphoria emanating from. I am strong but pretty. This is my neutral, my androgyny. I’m hoping to see a decrease in breast size over the next 9 months and obviously be in better physical condition all together. If I am going to do top surgery, I want to be in decent shape to help with recovery. I do what I can, I work with what I’ve got. Most days I wear sports bras, occasionally I’ll wear a binder when I need them to be even less obvious. All in all, I’m just looking forward to the day that I can pull a damn shirt over my head and have that be the only layer between myself and the world.

Still week 10 - Friday the 9th of October

Woke up feeling like crap.

Did my best dead lift to date.

5 reps 155lbs and 1 rep 175lbs. I now lift more than my body weight.

Week 10: October 4th-10th

I got two sets, 4 reps of 30lb overhead presses after working my way up through 22.5, 25,and 27.5lbs sets.

Deadlift is still looking good, did a 70lb warm up set, 20 reps. Moved on to 90lbs, 20 reps. I think we’ll be increasing my heavy deadlift weight this next week. I’m so close to lifting my body weight. I can lift 135lbs presently, need to hit 155lbs.

Quick notes

Tonight was 6 sets 6 reps 135lb dead lift. Made it to 30lb dumbbell flat benchpresses. 4 sets of 4. Don't forget you made it through a real push-up.

Week 8 - Sept 20-26

Quick measurement update. Will edit formatting later.

Chest: 35" Waist: 27" Hips: 39.5

I had my first full week away from the gym because of recovery needs during the second week of September. I was potentially starting to overtrain because I wasn’t reaching my numbers. We’ve scaled it back a bit

I am doing about 70lb squats, still doing 135lb dead lifts.

I’m using 25lb dumb-bells for flat bench pressing.

My hips still really hate the coming back up part of squatting. Working on strengthening that.

Short update -

I accomplished three 135lb dead lifts on Monday evening, the 31st.

On Thursday, the 3rd, I did 65lb squats.
