no but do you understand??? when cap learns how to relax with kitty, he ends the day by wandering in with his jacket off, the jacket with the medals and badges that were never his. do you get it??? he takes it off. just for a while he isn’t bound to it, he temporarily grants himself relief from it - something he put on the day he died, likely a source of so much shame and regret and embarrassment. he gives himself a reprieve from that reminder, slings it over his shoulder like an afterthought. that is fucking monumental character development!!! i love him so much truly one of the most characters of all time

i know it's been brought into common use in a different way recently but idk just a gentle reminder that the Captain did not die of gay panic or homosexual panic thank you. the first is the legal defence used when a heterosexual person commits a violent crime against a queer person. the other is what was in the DSM in some variation until 2013. i keep seeing the phrase pop up in posts and i understand what people are trying to say but yeah, that's not really what happened with the Captain and i do think it's something to be careful about/aware of when you're talking about the death of a gay character as well. honestly i just say that he died of cringe.

I have things to say about the captain this series but I doubt I’ll find the words to say them. Basically, I’m very emotional and it’s not about the death, nor the havers stuff. It’s personal so I’ll leave it there.

All I want to say at the moment is a big thank you to Ben Willbond for maintaining the character he created.

Cap’s character has been written with respect, with care and consideration, but he’s also been given the opportunity to be fun, flamboyant, and silly.

I mean. @patcaps isn’t happy with the name choice, but even so, thank you Mr Willbond.
