A post about that System Reboot AU for once:

I keep thinking about the concept of Beta.Pomni (as I'll call her) and the day of her creation, being that she is the first NPC Caine creates in his AU.

It's referencing the actual development cycle Goose went through to create Pomni. First, he came up with a sort of tree frog inspired model. But it wasn't a design he liked. The character went through several iterations.

Until he came up with the brilliant idea: well duh! A clown! He's a ringmaster, he needs a clown! Perhaps a jester!

He concepts a generic, androgynous jester, still with the idea that even if they didn't lean one gender or another, in his mind he was sort of prepared to make a male character.

However, when Beta.Pomni gained sapience at the snap of a finger, the voice she chose to take was something feminine. (or perhaps she pantomimed that she wanted a feminine voice when she didn't receive one yet.)

Caine was sort of surprised. Not because of her choices, but because she immediately started forming a personality all on her own. I mean, well duh! He supposes he did the same thing, so that is what his powers can do, ok! Nice! He'll have to continue making NPCs to see what they adapt themselves into apart from the outline he made!

Since Caine isn't going to ask Queenie about the past, I will still answer this question. Yes. She did cared a lot about him

Even though she scolded Scratch and Kinger - to not get attached, she definitelly did seen him as her adoptive son

What brought these memories to her? She checked on his status and sees that his state is pretty sad.

Both Queenie and Kinger are very good at not showing strangers or normal friends their actual emotions, but they do slip. (Like Kinger will let Scratch and Queenie know about his feelings, but no one else)
