update 7-9-26

Yeah, I'm here. Life is going.... Meh?

The last year has been full of simmering frustration. Work isn't the same as it used to be. The new position as of a few years ago isn't great. I find that I don't have the right tools to do an adequate job. I don't get time for any professional development trainings etc. Also, procedures / workflows that are agreed upon are getting changed mid-year or getting criticized later on as if I alone made the decision. The only reason I look forward to going to work at this point is to get away from home for a bit. Oh, and the folks there that are pretty nice. The time off isn't too bad, but not being able to take vacation during the nicest times of the year absolutely sucks.

Still single, dating apps? Absolutely useless. Nobody matches with me and when they do I get ghosted. Feel like I'm hopeless I guess. I've tried changing my bio all around and nothing. I don't f#$king get it.

Parents are getting older which leads to another set of frustrations and challenges every day. Idk.

How does any adult have a good time? Cause this sure isn't..

It's one thing to fail at a task. It's another to try your hardest and get picked apart completely. Especially when the criticism is from those who are close to you or you felt you had a good relationship with.

Work got a little better. Less stress. Just had the best group of students I have ever encountered graduate. Feels are strong because the atmosphere has just changed drastically and it's not as cheerful. Proud of the group, and I hope they do great things.

I'm alive though. Home is still a never ending stream of work and what not. Nothing has happened to me that is exciting in the last year. So yeah, that's that. Still single, so that sucks.

Yearly update

Got a promotion. I mildly hate it compared to my last position. Some good, more bad.

At home, I work quite a bit. Could be chores could be maintenance, could be renovation.

Life is okay overall. Just sorta slogging through rn. Nothing has been the same since covid. People are more guarded. Nobody wants to do anything. Businesses are closing, everything is expensive.

I'm not dead though. So there's that.

Years go by slowly as you live them. Yet, looking back, the years fly by in the blink of an eye. Do things for yourself, don’t spend every moment worrying about money or a career. If you don’t, you will look back with regret. You can’t get time back. Money can always be earned. Times I noticed this:

Graduating college and realizing that I have been out of High School as long as I was in it.

Now I’m 30 and my early 20′s feel like they were yesterday. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since FAFSA, Roommates, scheduling classes, and juggling jobs, and juggling family and relationships.

Also, turning 30 is sort of putting me into minor crisis mode. I feel like I’ve lost a lot of time I’m not getting back. Getting anxious about the future.

On another note. It’s been 10 months since I posted last. Maybe I’ll post again sooner. I dunno.
