A once loved name for horror movie fans for her iconic scream. Now a "washed up" has been high schoolers.
It kinda hurts being called a has been by both the world and kids at school but why bother listen to them? They weren't child stars. Barbara was and she was great.
Or at least she hopes she was...
But life keeps moving and so does Barbara. Shes moved on from the life in front of a camera but not a stage.
Drama club being her personal stage. She met people who adore her, be in the spot light and give her the greatest person ever.
Rick? No ew.. I mean [reader]. There like the heat.
They hung out like all the time, more then she does with her boyfriend.. and I mean hes good yeah, Rick's nice and he liked her movie but hes kinda pushy. [Readers] not. She super sweet and totally on barbs side all the time.. shes barbs BFF forever!
She cant tell the amount of time she was slacking off at the dinner because [reader] was there. She'd be in between taking orders, running orders to cars and rolling around in her skates and still talk to them all the time until penelope yelled at her to get back to work.
It felt like everytime they talked she was on her own personal cloud 9..
Today was no different. no work and a short school day friday morning. Barbara was speeding through her chores hoping it will help her butter up her mom to ask. She basically sprinted down the stairs after cleaning her room running to the kitchen catching Edith off guard putting her hands together.
"Mom can [reader] come over after school pleaseeee!!!"
Barbara begged putting her hands together, as Edith grabbed the finished breakfast plate from Walter, Calvin still doing his homework at the table while Sam looked around for his backpack.
"No Barbara-"
"What! You let Calvin's friend come over but I cant invite [reader]?!"
"Don't talk back to me Barbara. No means no."
"But I did my chores! I promise ill uh.."
Barbara tried to think of a way to butter up her mom some more to let her come over snapping her fingers together
"I'll uh.. help Calvin with his homework and uh take out the trash tonight and-"
"Want you girlfriend to come over barb?"
Calvin snickered from the dinning room. Or Barbara just wanted to chock him sometimes! Hes so annoying!! There just BFF'S not like barbs got a crush- i mean what who said that.
"Shut up calvin!"
"Don't tell your brother to shut up Barbara."
"But he started it!"
"Don't care who started it and no she can't come over."
"UGH! This is so not far!"
Barbara huffed throwing her hands up and storming back to her room, walter turned his head looking confused and kinda scared but Barbara didnt care shes so upset!
Barbara slammed her door flooping on her bed rolling over to scream in a pillow. Her mom is so frustrating!
Her dad sven heard Barbaras door slam went downstairs to try and settle the waters between and daughter and mother.
"What happened with barb..?"
"She wants her friend to come over."
"Whats the problem with that?"
Edith looked up from the dishes like its the most obvious thing ever turning back to the water
"Shes a bad influence on barbara."

Sven pointed out. The boys in the dinning room tried to make it look like there not easedropping-

Edith huffed. Sven smiled giving her a kiss on the check earning them a loud "YUCK" from sam.-
Sven knocked on Barbaras door getting a "come in". He entered seeing her sitting on her bed looking upset clearing his throat to get her attention.
"I talked with your mother about your friend coming over"
"She changed her mind she can come over."
"Really?! Oh thank you daddy!"
"But- you gotta help Calvin with his homework"

Barbara jumped hugging her dad, sven just smiled hugging her back (W sven) she was much more enthusiastic the rest of the day. At school she could barely sit down waiting for the end of day bell and basically sprinted to her locker, rick tried to talk to her but he can screw off right now shes got better things to do!

At home she made sure the house looked nice or acceptable, cleaning the living room, double cleaning her bedroom. Putting rolling curlers in her hair putting more effort into herself for her special friend then her boyfriend but its whatever.
She picking the green phone from her bedside desk up to just dial her number lighing a cigarette with her spare hand.
"Hello?"
"Hay its Barbara!"
"I know its you barb.."
"I know but just gotta make sure"
Barbara giggled taking a drug from her cigarette, hearing her voice made her super giddy totally not the crush she has on her. Nope totally not.
"If your gonna ask me to skate again im not going"
"What?! We were having a blast!"
"No i fell on my face and Rick never let me live it down.."
Barbara couldn't help but chuckle walking around in circles in her room twisting the phone cord in between her fingers.
"Actually I wanted to ask if you could come over.. we could watch gentleman perfer blondes or old yeller.."
"Old yeller made me cry.. but sure I can come over."
"Really okay super groovy so can you come around.. 6:30..?"
"Yeah sure"

Barbara was about to continue when she heard giggles, child giggles. Oh it better not!-

Sam laughed before they hung up.

Barbara hung up the phone putting her cigarette out in the tray and stormed down stairs to confront her little brothers.
When she got down there they were already hiding behind Edith and sven so Barbara cant do much. Oh there so annoying!!!

6:30 came around faster then Barbara wanted. She made sure her hair and little bit of makeup she took from her mom's bedroom looked nice before the doorbell rang. She came down the stairs taking a deep breath before opening it to see [reader]
"Hay barb"
Barbaras brain did not catch up for a second before she cleared her throat
"H.. hi, hi! Uh hi [reader]"
She said coming out way more awkward then she wanted it to come out opening the door more for her to come in,
"This is your house?"
"No- I mean yeah yeah of course why would it not, i mean haha.."
Barbara laughed awkwardly before leaving to the kitchen- pull yourself together Barbara! You've been in front of a camera and audience!!
"The popcorn should be done soon so uh you can make yourself comfortable in the living room"

You smiled giving her a thumbs up, sitting on the couch. It was silent other then the pops from the kitchen, you heard little footsteps coming ahead you looked over and stood little Walter holding what looked like a broken wooden train cluching it to his chest as he stood in front of you
"Do you like trains..?"

"Can you help me.."
Walter asked holding the toy out to you, you took it from his little hands. You took a good look at it before looking at him

Walter nodded his head profusely running upstairs. Coming back with some glue as he watched you up his wooden train back together. Without knowing you were being watched by two other eyes. Calvin and Sam were watching from above on the railing.
"What are they doing general Sam..?"
"There fixing walters train.. commander Calvin.."
"What let me see!"
"What no! These are my binoculars, get your own!"

They faught for the binoculars. You were focused on the toy train in your hands. You gave the fixed train back to walter, his little eyes lit up
"Its.. its all fixed!"
He gasped dropping to the floor to roll it on the floor watching the little wheels turn again he gasped smiling wide as he ran to show his mom and dad his fixed train.
"Mom dad she fixed it train, she fixed my train!!!"
Walter smiled running up the stairs. Barbara came back back with popcorn sitting down next to you
"Did you fix his train..?"

She tried to play it off but to her her brother's judgment kinda mattered. Its kinda hard to get then to like someone. So thats at least one out of three brother.
While watching the the movie she heard her mom call her, she huffed knowing shes gonna ask Barbara for something. And they already ran out of popcorn so might as well get some while shes there.
"Ill be back"

She smiled scream "yeah?" While she went up the stairs. Perfect all according to plan!
Sam and Calvin peaked from the corner planning there intervention before they rolled into account.
"Ha! We caught you"

Calvin and Sam yelled with, Sam held one of his fake plastic shotguns and Calvin had a space blaster. Your getting threatened by a astronaut and solider, you put your hands up (obviously). They lowered there weapons

She huffed hoping they didn't say anything embarrassing. They did not like they were being kicked out but agreed anyways going back upstairs to there room

You both fell asleep leaning against each other half eaten popcorn and late late picture show playing in the back Barbara holding your hand. In the morning after you left going back home during breakfast.
"So Barbara how was your hang out?"

Barbara looked at Calvin and Sam eating there cereal Calvin was the first to speak
"What i had to test them and they passed barb not many people do!"
"They passed better then rick.."
Sam rolled his eyes huffing while Calvin puffed his chest proud of himself for giving you the test
"And they fixed walters train"
Sam pointed to Walter still playing with the wooden train she fixed for him.

Sonia waved, you opened the door and disappeared into the beach house. You thought about which one you wanted, but before you can think much someone stepped from behind and hit you hard in the head.

She gently placed your body down, just staring with her sharp red eyes that turned weary. Shaking her head. She grabbed the bottles of water washing your blood off her body. Using her sword to get out and didnt even both stopping at the dinner and went straight to her room to wash her body.
Standing under the water she heard the dead body announcement. She closed her eyes and stated down. Why kind of solider goes against there own?

When going to sleep they cling to you. You'd feel weight on your chest or arm, animal? Nah just Sonia or gundham.
Dates are more like middle of the night debating about if serial killers have reasons to kill or if animals used in occult are evil, turned into cuddling and watching some documentary.
The devas see you all are parents. You all take care of them so its bound to happen, gundham was vary pleased when seeing they accepted you as highly as he does
You help each other with everyone's makeup. It turns into a mini gossip session. Sonia speaks of royal or school gossip, gundham talks about people hes seen at the shelter. You gossip about whatever

Gundham gets super flustered fast so when he does initiate any physical touch with either of you his face if red. Holding hands. Cheeks are red. Hugging beet red. Cuddling at that point he is a tomato.

Barbara has another award in the middle of the awards she got from my friend bigfoot, something from a "Washington Centennial" event she may have taken pride of getting
Like Sam Barbara has a ashtray with cigarette buds near her bed (even tho shes 16 but shh) next to her cake and a green phone.
Barbara must have really liked dresses, there are two shown clearly in her room (you could naybe count her uniform from the dinner as a dress)
Someone (likely edie) had moved Barbaras uniform from the railing to her room after she died
Most of a fun fact but in the beta version when they were designing Barbara's room. originally instead of her having a shrine and the comic book about her death was on top of it sitting down on her bed to read it. You had to slide it from under her door and sit down on the ground to read it.

I didnt take a photo but in Calvin and Sam's room on Sam's side there is a ashtray and cigarette buds on a table by his bed likely a habit he picked up trying to cope with his brother's death

Barbara had a lot of hobbies showen in her room, she may have liked ballet (a swan lake poster), practiced guitar, and was probably in theater in school

Its been who knows how long you've all been in the fun house but it felt like forever with hunger eating at everyone's bones.
It felt like monokuma got a sick fun out of feeing you all suffer. Watching as your body's got weaker, and you all felt this aching pain at your bones.
It was extremely hard to watch your own boyfriend suffer as well. Gundham even seemed to grow weaker along with everyone, it got bad to the point the devas were effected.
It felt harder as the days went on, laying next to gundham holding your hand wishing you could take all your friends pain.
When finding the death room Gundham pulled you aside telling you he had a plan
"Dearst emblem of my everglowing flame, I believe i have found a out for everyone.."
"A out? There's no exist we checked you know that- no. No, no, no."
"My mortal it is the only way-!"
"No! There has to be another way!"
You protected, but he explained his plan. He was going to kill Nekomaru/Mechamaru and trade his life for the escape of everyone else. You didnt agree but an idea came in your head.
What if you did the plan before him? Sacrifice yourself instead of him. That sounded a better fate then having to go through this game without him.
You just sucked it up for now and kept exploring together. You felt guilty but it felt like the only way.
You talked with Nekomaru, he reluctantly agreed thinking even this was harsh.
That final day you spend that time with your closet friends. Comforted Sonia, telling her when its all over youll visit Novoselic together, spend some day talking with Kazuichi while he talked about Sonia (for the 100th time), and spend some quality time with Gundham and the Dark devas. You still felt guilty but you'd rather sacrifice your own life for his.
In the night you slipt out of Gundhams arms, leaving the room whispering a final goodbye without him noticing, making your way to the final death room, holding your breath as you met up with Mechamaru in grape tower to fight.
"Are you certain to do this?"
"Its the only way.. i just want everyone safe.."
You mumbled, Mechamaru sighed agreeing and you began your fight.
It didnt take long for you to go down, hes bigger and hunger already made you weak. You mumbled your final goodbyes as the light slowly got dimmer. Nekomaru stood over your body apologizing that it had to end like this.
Little did you know a small scared San-D watched the whole fight scurrying back to Gundhams room before anything.

But seeing it with his own two eyes not even a evil as himself could handle. He just stood there, looking down as the blood got on his shoes it felt the Dark devas weep and felt his own eyes burn.
It was quite, for once. No dramatic. No loud voice. Just quite. Like his brain hasn't caught up to the fact his dear mortal is dead. It wasn't a realty he wanted to belive.
In the class trial he defended your name, hissing threats at everyone like an angry cat. He was angry at Mechamaru for agreeing to the plan.
Even after his execution Gundham felt nothing. You death left a mark in the tanaka empire. It felt empty but he knew you would want him to live for you. And its be wrong to deny you that.
You and Gundham had been in a kinda romantic relationship. I mean yall do everything a couple would do, at least In the eyes of the Tanaka empire.
Protect each other, spend time together, he even trusted you to look after the devas. Hes conviction his skin is poison so it never gets to physical touch.

Well until now when you were both sitting on his bed in his cottage, the Dark devas were fast asleep. With this whole situation your in might as well shoot you're shot and be blunt.
But hes always been afraid to make a move and you respected him so you never made a move, so you both were oh so hopelessly in love yet too afraid to make a move.
It had gotten to the point Sonia nearly blurted out Gundhams feeling to you while hanging out together but caught herself before getting to the point and started mumbling nonsense.
You didnt caught on but you understood a little but nothing still happened.

Five minutes later you managed to somehow get the supreme overlord of ice into your lap smiling at the cold your getting from his skin, while he hide his absolute blushed face in his scarf and you’re shoulder

Your legs were killing you, you can barely keep your eyes open, and your basically dragging your feet on the floor.
You yawned stretching your back hoping to stay away to at least make it to your dorm, you looked around and saw Akane and Nekomaru about to do some early morning training. Akane was the first one to see you sprinting up to you and takle hugging you while laughing in your ears.
"Hay there [Reader]! Why are you up so early!"
"I was about to ask you the same thing.."
You yawned as Akane got you back on your feet (your conviction she may have given you a rug burn-) Nekomaru stepped closer and get a look at you
"Did you just get back or something?"
"Yeah you look like you haven't sleep in years? You good?!"
They asked, you knew if you said something either one would pick you up and take you to your dorm themselfs or get one of Nekomarus pep talks which kinda hurt more then being yelled at
"Nope just over established how long i can be awake for.."
Wow that was a pretty bad excuse and you can tell they know but they dont bring it up, akane gives you one least hug (stealing for food on you if you have any lol) and you get a hard pat on the shoulder from Nekomaru as they go back to training. It hurt like a bitch but your fine. You just kept dragging your body and kept going.
You finally made it back to your dorm ready to fall into bed but you dragged on a little longer walking to your closet picking something that was easy to throw on. You heard a shuffle from your bed.
"Beloved..?"
You peaked out head looking over at shoulder and saw Sonia sitting up eyes adjusting to the darkness and sleep slowly leaving her eyes
"Hi Sonia.."
"Oh beloved! Your back.!
Sonia spoke happily stretching her arms and making grabby hands at you, gundham was still fast asleep next to her unaware of your presence.
It felt wrong denying a Princess of some love so you threw something on quick and climbed into bed in the middle of the bed letting sonia get close already burring herself into your chest smiling. happy to see you.
"How was your day beloved!"
"It was good Sonia.."
You smiled sleepily, her head leaned into your chest wrapping her arms around your waist, Gundham stured next to you. blinking slowly to seeing you in bed, he pulled himself closer enough for a small bit of touch a broken smile appeared on his lips resting cheek against your back.
"It seems the evil knight of our hearts has returned.."
"The tanaka empire has missed you while you were gone."
"Oh yes! We missed you much beloved! I saw this great book about occult i cant wait to show you!"
Sonia and Gundham spoke clearly both happy to see you, Sonia wrapping one hand around your finger tips Gunham gently took your other hand into his own and held it with such gentleness you would never guess hes the overload of ice. Both holding your hand like a sea otters.
They were both happy and snug right next to you just where they wanna be, even if you have to wake up in a few hours for class its all okay just like this..
Should I write my other fanfics in working on.. or another Gundham fanfic.. hermmm💭💭💭🤔

You and Gundham have been taking for a while. You owe it all to Sonia, she’s the one who got you in the relationship and had been a supporter since then! And your relationship is super healthy!
No matter how much he says he’s some big overlord of ice he’s a sweetheart! Poor thing was scared to even hold your hand for months! But he really does love you.
You both are deep into the relationship maybe been together for a year? You’re able to hold his hand, take care of the four dark devas of distraction and you both hang out a lot.
In class, after school, animal cafes, parks, walking with him to class, walking with him to and from school. You always hang out! But now that you think about it you’ve never been to his house.. I mean you’ve been to it in passing like walking with him to and from school but you’ve never been inside..
And you’ve also never met his family, or his mother..
He doesn’t talk about his family. But from what you’ve collected. He lives with his mom (obviously yall are teens-) she can’t really cook which is why he’s convinced there’s poison in his body, and his father? He doesn’t even speak of him and if he does it looks like he’s unsure or leaves him in a weird mood.
You’ve seen his mother, you saw her a few times in the morning but never got close. The closest you’ve been was after school when you dropped him off at his house and she was collecting the laundry from drying outside. She waved thinking your some friend or something not noticing you both holding hands and giving Gundham a kiss on the cheek which left him flustered.
And he never brought you up. Hell she didn’t even know! Because he knows his mom. She’ll freak out.
Not in some bad controlling way. No, no, noooo. I mean, she will be bouncing off the walls in happiness. He’s never been a relationship or been close with anyone, this is huge for her son!
He thought he could hide it for a while.. but eventually she found out by complet accident when he left his phone on the counter after a meal when he went to feed that dark devas.
A text from you came up and the name looked like a pet name or some kind (probably something thing like ‘enchanted of the ethereal flame of my heart’ or something idk man😭) and it wasn’t familiar in any way and he never brought anything like that up..
And she couldn’t help but wonder who that was. so.. after a little snooping on his phone (she’s not proud of it-) she found out about you’re relationship right when he came back from his room..
Needless to say she bombarded him with questions..
“who are they?! What’s there name! How long have you been together?!”
Mrs Tanaka squealed putting her hands together and clapping a little. She’s excited to say the least.. gundham look more defeated then anything cursing himself eternally for letting this happen.. not like he didn’t want his mother to know but he wasn’t prepared for this..
“I need to meet them!”
It wasn’t up for discussion Mrs Tanaka wanted to meet you! No matter how much her son protested she needed to see the person who stole her son’s “cold” heart!
She questioned him for the rest of the day after that..
The next day after you got him from his house to walk to hopes peak, you both were talking like normal while holding hands. Classes, friends, occult. Normal things for your relationship.. but he cleared his throat knowing he’d have to address what he mentally dreaded..
“My dear mortal for it seems my mother would like to let your presence fill the air of my temple, I could like you to acquire me..”
He sighed into his scarf while you walked, even the dark devas looked interested in the conversation.. you tilted your head
“Oh did you finally tell her about us..?”
“For I wish I could say I did but I fear I didn’t.. she had learned such knowledge by accident..”
You sighed looking at gundham with a “really” expression. You’re not upset that he never told her, your more upset that he brings it up now.. I mean it’s a pretty big deal but, he is your boyfriend and you love him so I guess you’ll have to deal..
“Fine I’ll come.. I just hope she’ll like me..”
You sighed, you saw a small smirk apart on his lips as you both got closer to the gates of hopes peak, bring your hands to his lips and giving the skin a small kiss his cheeks flushing a red tint to his pale skin.
“Fear not my mortal for she shall accept you as one like the highly as I do!”
You sighed but you believed him. The rest of the day went by like normal and when you got home you had to prepare.. which resulted in you basically sitting in the floor of your room groaning into a pillow..
Was your outfit too much? Too little? Was your hair a mess? What if she doesn’t like you.. what if she doesn’t accept you???!!!
But not your in front of the Tanaka house.. no turning back now..
Before your knuckles can even touch the door it swings open to reveal an older woman who looked just like Gundham. Black/gray hair, gray eyes, slightly tamed pale skin, and an apron. This must be his mother..
Before you can even say a word she pulled you inside with a bright smile on her face squealing with excitement as she shook your hand
“Oh look at you! Gundham you never told me they were this pretty! You must be his parent! I’m Mrs Tanaka his mother but you knew that! Oh you’re just so cute!”
She squealed talking so fast you can’t even process what she’s saying. She pintched your cheeks, she let go and went to prepare whatever she must have been cooking. Gundham sparred by your side.
He’s in more casual clothes, stilll dramatic but calmer. He’s still got his purple scarf but the devas are chilling on his shoulders, his cheeks looked a little red.
“I deeply apologize for my mother’s actions.. for such will not slide in the Tanaka empire but.. I’m glad you cared to acquire me..”
He mumbled into his scarf taking your hands into his, the devas squeaked in happiness to see you again and agreeing with Gundham. Mrs Tanaka who was watching from the kitchen cleared her throat with a little smirk on her face about to make a comment but she stopped herself just told you to come to the dining table.
You sat down at a seat next to Gundham, he held your pinky under the table but you wrapped your fingers together and held his face gently. His face burned up which he tried to cover with his scarf.
“Me and Gundham already ate but I wanted to save you some!”
Mrs Tanaka smiled putting a plate in front of you. It look interesting. You glacer at gundham who had this kinda sour look on his face like looking at it fueled the poison in his body..But it’s the thought that counts. You picked up a fork and put it in your mouth.
It tastes.. okay.. to put it lightly. Not good but not terrible. It was a little salty and kinda rubbery. But it’s bearable you swallowed the kept eating. After you finished clearly the plate other then a few small parts it left a horrible after taste in your mouth that made you want to gag.. but swallowed hard and stood up slowly to take care of your dishes
Gundham looked at you like you grew three heads! How did you not even make a small face?! Were you use to it? Was your skin also poisons? Is that why you didn’t flinch when you held his hand for the first time?! He needs answer?!
While you washed up your own and the other plates in the sink you felt both Mrs Tanaka and Gundhams eyes on you which was more nerve-wracking then meeting his mother.
You caught the way Mrs tanaka was looking at you, shes looking at you like your some thing to be studied. It felt like she knew Your grades, your family, your bloodline, hell she probably knows your credit score!
"Gundhan I need to talk to you for a second."
She nodded to the hallway, Gundham reluctantly followed leaving you all by yourself.. you wanted to know what she was saying about you so you turned off the water and listened closely
"Mother I-"
"Your telling me you were with someone like that and I never knew?!"
"I dont understand-?"
"Look honey.. im gonna say this lightly.. keep them."
"Huh..?"
You and Gundham were super confused.. I mean here you both thought she was gonna say you did something wrong but you both were vary wrong..
She huffed seeing his confused expression turning around and returned to the kitchen going back to super happy around you helping you with the dishes. Gundham just kinda stood in the hallway before coming back and had a small smirk on his face mumbling about being able to such charm over the Tanaka empire.
It was only when Mrs tanaka was going to show you a old photo album of Gundham when he finally retreated the both of you to his room.
It looked just like you expected it, hamster cage, dark colors, dark purple silk, gothic look. The only real light colors are the walls and a few things hes stolen from your room or you've given him (thief-) you both sat on the bed while Gundham pulled you close hidding his flustered face in your shoulder, the Dark devas appeared out of his scarf to get comfortable with there own Kin (they see Gundham and you as there parents trust) squeaking in happiness.
It was silent other then the Four Dark Devas of Distraction squeaking, he lifted his head slightly not making eye contact.
"Thank you for your presence dear mortal.."
"Yeah of course gundham.."
You smiled, Gundham showed a broken smile but he was happy. You wrapped your fingers together while he fall asleep on top of you, the Devas found a comfortable spot and fell asleep as well.
