Come check out Yeyo Arts Collective! Today we're having our Saturday Handmade Marketplace! Feat. Vendors! Artwork by Jean Brantley Title: A Tribute to the Roots For more information on this piece and our collective contact us at: [email protected]
The Convergence will take a look at three areas: Self Care, Community Work, and Collective Action, as catalysts for economic and cultural achievement. Participants will share techniques, skills, and information during this three-day convening. The weekend kicks off on Thursday, June 12, with a welcome session at Blank Space, a local collectively-run business on Cherokee Street. Participants will register, meet, greet, and warm up for the rest of the wonderful weekend ahead. We will reconvene on Friday, June 13, at (RAC), for a full-day of exciting interactions, speakers, and workshops, which will inspire and challenge.
Join Yeyo Arts Collective, a group of people who believe in the creative empowerment of women and families, in a 3 day look at professional art practice, cultural support and transformative action! We are excited to cultivate and support formalized art practices that generate networks in theMidwestfor a national impact.
We look forward to seeing folks who are practicing community based artists working in the disciplines of creative writing, dance, storytelling, visual and multi discipline artists.
We look forward to seeing people of color and anti racist allies who are professionals in their field. Organizers, community groups and higher institutions will have a presence. Supporters of the arts, grassroots leaders and emerging professionals are welcome.

What a GREAT turn out for our Taking Flight Reception this weekend!
Thank you to all who showed for the reception.
Yeyo Arts Collective presents the November exhibition in Gya Art Gallery : Taking Flight!
Taking Flight: as in flights of the imagination, flights of fancy, light as air, light as a feather, soaring, freedom, independence, mourning, transformation and opening up. North as the crow flies, the great migration, dialogue, drifting and being with the wind. Transition, transformation, freedom -- life. Featuring work by: Itshanapa Dail Chambers, Deborah Mashibini and Valerie Wongoi Mayes.
