The only other time Nami had been sent to a guidance counselor’s office was when they had been making Mother’s Day cards in the fifth grade and she had written her mother a formal letter thanking her for giving birth to her. She probably could have been hired by a business to do formal correspondence for them, but the school had taken Nami’s straightforward letter to be alarming. Once her father showed up, explaining their family situation, Nami had been sent to the library for the rest of the day, away from the other kids who were cheerfully making cards for their mothers. It was safe to say she was a bit worried when she had received a formal notice, marking an appointment for her to see a guidance counselor. Was it because she barely left her dorm room or the library in her free time? She diligently made it to track meets and debate club meetings, figuring it was enough of a social life for her. Maybe it was about another student, she thought, her mind trailing down several different paths as she made her way to the designated office. She was eager to get this over with, not that she had anywhere else to be. She knocked on the door once, faintly. And then again, a bit louder before receiving vocal confirmation to come in. She tentatively pushed open the door, her presence small as she stepped into what had to be a makeshift greenhouse.
Most appointments were made by Iseul herself, usually with the consent of the student it was about, but every now and then other faculty (though mostly higher-ups) sent a few people her way that they wanted her to check up on. She usually got a general concern to either confirm or debunk. That was the case for Yoon Nami today, who had allegedly been showcasing some (according to whoever) startlingly antisocial behavior. Personally she never appreciated these meetings that were generally forced on her, not because she disliked to meet with the students, but because she thought that they should have the basic right to be whoever they were without someone else meddling in their affairs. So long as they weren’t fucking up big time, of course. But she had followed Nami since she was a wee first year old, and there was no reason for concern. She did look forward to talking to her, though.
”Come in.” Iseul called in that practiced voice she knew carried through the room and past the door, without her actually shouting. Just loud enough to assert herself. The door creaked open in such a hesitant, delicate way -- and the second year stepped inside just the same: so small, as if she was walking on eggshells. She didn’t know why she was here. That slight insecurity, and without a doubt the hours of fretting over why. That’s agony, if anything. But the guidance counselor smiled and rose from behind her desk, motioning towards one of the small couches as she approached the other. “Hello Nami, I’m glad to have you here. I’m Iseul, and it’s a pleasure to finally meet you in person. Here, take a seat.” Yoon Nami was an interesting character, despite remaining fairly anonymous. She had caught glimpses of such an impressive drive, and Iseul’s most pressing concern was whether or not the student would end up working herself too hard. Hopefully she’d get that question answered before they parted.
She brushed past reaching leaves, but before taking a seat she continued towards the neat counter further away. Iseul placed one cup on the tray and turned to look at the young woman, simultaneously brushing a stray stand of hair behind her hair. It was impossible to perfectly tie your hair up, and anything else was witchcraft. Which she fully endorsed, of course -- who didn’t get all tingly at the idea of witchcraft? Just Iseul? Oh, well. “Before we start, do you want some tea? Any type you especially like?” Her manicured fingers were hovering over a second cup behind her, ready to add it if necessary. No session was complete without a cup of tea, and that must be the only healthy habit she had picked up.
[ color quiz ] you are darkredviolet, #600B40
Your dominant hues are red and magenta. You love doing your own thing and going on your own adventures, but there are close friends you know you just can't leave behind (cough @yfxgain cough). You can influence others on days when you're patient, but most times you just want to go out, have fun, and do your own thing.
Your saturation level is high - you get into life and have a strong personality. Everyone you meet will either love you or hate you - either way, your goal is to get them to change the world with you. You are very hard working and don't have much patience for people without your initiative.
Your outlook on life is slightly darker than most people's. You try to see things for what they are and face situations honestly. You'd rather get to the point than look for what's good.

On days were Iseul had no reason in hell to wake up a specific time, you’d be nothing but a fool if you actually expected that much of her. She loved free things, and she adored this relaxing spa resort they had been sent to. Not that she planned on being overly social, no: drinking, relishing in the spa and crossing another place off of her ‘masturbation list’ was all she had the intention of doing. A perfect mini-vacation in other words. And while she had no interest living under the same roof as most of her fellow staff, at least she had Gain to keep her sane. As for right now, though, she was fast asleep. She may be an alcoholic in the making, but luckily past Iseul had the foresight to get rid of all the evidence. Or as much evidence as physically possible, because there’d be no escaping that hangover once she came to again. But that’s a problem for future Iseul.
The knocks traveled sharply from the door and almost split her head in two. With a low, guttural grow she swore she was perfectly capable of murder right now. Give her a life sentence or two, she’d be guilty of as much if this knocking continued. Luckily it didn’t, and at the vague mention of ‘room service’ she forced her eyes open and crawled out of bed like it was the most inconvenient, most challenging thing someone could ever ask of her. “The fuck...” Still partly asleep, but only a mild throbbing in her head, Iseul stepped over yesterdays lazily thrown clothes. She ran a hand through her messy hair and corrected the oversize t-shirt before opening the door, better not look like a total slob if it was a woman on the other side. It wasn’t. “Great, I’ll take this. Now fuck off.” She had already gripped the trolley and pulled it inside, leaving the confused man at a loss of words when the door was shut in his face.
The blinders were shut (and she planned on keeping them that way, ew sunlight am I right?), but she turned the lights on and glanced at the trays of, undoubtedly delicious, breakfast. She also realized that it was a serving for two, and Iseul didn’t have to strain her brain trying to figure out who had sent it. The only thing that baffled her was why she hadn’t shown up yet. Or maybe she was just slightly questioning that as her temper in the morning was explosive at best: not pretty. Gain already knew to avoid that bombshell of a situation if possible. Regardless she pulled a grape off the vine, popped it in her mouth and reached for her phone that... wasn’t there? Oh, right. With no shame to speak of she walked across the room to pick the phone up from somewhere in the corner, where she had thrown it as soon as the alarm went off. We can’t all be morning people, okay.

Oh, it’s on. They may or may not have created a full-blown war on the train to gyeonggi-do, building up the competitive air around them that you could, quite literally, cut through with a knife. Karaoke must be one of the few life-or-death things in life that was not to to be taken lightly, and it didn’t help that both Iseul and Jihae was just as passionate about this notion. Or maybe passionate was the wrong word, try intense. Needless to say a karaoke battle between the two had been scheduled for later, and underneath the ‘may the best woman win’-attempts at being civil, the fire was real. One of them was going to burn, and neither of them would willingly go through the embarrassment that is losing.
With her dyed hair tied back (can’t afford any distractions, especially not stray strands going into her mouth), and her elbows resting on her knees in her forward-facing position, Iseul keeps her eyes glued on the other woman. The generously re-filled glass of soju remains securely held in her hands. For a brief second she may have been undressing Jihae with her eyes, but one swig of the alcohol later and she was back to her 110% competitive state, waiting for the teacher to pick her song. They had already gone through one or two tracks each -- but the night was still young, and this was far from settled. “I’m expecting great things from you, so don’t disappoint me.” She may or may not be referring to something completely unrelated to their current showdown.
here’s your resident guidance counselor, and she’s back with a vengeance!!
welcome kiddos, step inside her jungle!! i mean office, welcome to her office and please take a seat. her couches are fantastic (with cozy blankets for extra comfort!!), a generous assortment of high quality teas + a secret stash of cookies if things are extra bad, and an open mind. but mostly plants, in the ‘i can’t see the walls behind all the leaves’ kind of way.
she’s that kind of guidance counselor that acknowledges that we’re all screw-ups in one way or another (bc today’s societal standards are absurd), and instead of lowkey forcing you to find ways to become better she’s all for providing the tools you need to understand yourself, strengths and weaknesses alike, and how to work with that rather than against it.
+ some professional distance to keep herself sane of course. but always there for you if you desperately need her, esp. all the female students out there. she’s just a phone call away.
professional in general ig, won’t let the disaster that is her personal life into her office.
sunhwa alumni and former baek ho girl. she loathes that time of her life.
hates men?? like, so much?? doesn’t feel like she can trust any of you tbh.
she’s destructive af behind closed doors. name any bad decision and she’s made it at least once. her personal life is a definite mess, and the only time she’s not breathing disaster is when she’s at home, curled up on her couch with her five cats. she means well (maybe??), but her default mode is to self-harm.
music, tho!! you’re looking at a singer-songwriter who released her first full album in december last year. she’s known as izzy in the music industry, and weekends are mostly spent doing music-related things.
but most of all she’s working towards building a future matriarchy.
constantly angry. “that’s my secret, captain. i’m always angry.” the hulk, iseul, probably. said rage is what keeps her productive. she no longer has anger issues (okay, that’s not entirely true), but she can now harness her anger to get things done and make something useful out of it. she may look chill, but there’s actually no chill.
may or may not know how to kill a man using her bare hands in more ways than one.
she’s the head of baek ho, the student council’s staff advisor and the cheer coach.
tldr: an angry, hot mess that is here to sort some shit out (and secretly flip sunhwa off).
i’ve got no pre-made plots yet, i’m sorry!! but if you still want to plot with iseul, like this post and i’ll hit you up when i get home again <3
yall i love iseul no joke. homegirl be a rad counselor who can probably quietly kill u
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
ISEUL AND PLANTS THO. have you seen her office? it's ridiculous.
ya she got a forest in there
[ MOODBOARD ] kham iseul, perpetually angry and thoroughly unimpressed.
