People who portray Sam as a Genuine High School Bully make me wonder if they actually watched the scene where Taurtis ditches him to hang out with the Cool Kids.

Because I love the social hierarchy of YHS!!! And It really makes me upset when people forget how it worked, or try to morph it into something that it's not; especially in regards to how Sam fit into it.

Because what makes Sam such a scary threat in YHS Canon isn't that he was "popular" or "scary" in school. Because he wasn't. He was the exact opposite of untouchable. He was a genuine loser who couldn't do anything in that place, even though he initially tried to be moral, or he sometimes tried to fight back...

So instead, what does make him genuinely frightening, is that the series begins to take place more and more outside of the school. It pulls you out of the familiar setting. Events seem to always happen at night. Instead of students, they're surrounded by adults or Yakuza Members. And more importantly; this is a situation where Sam isn't a victim. It's a situation where he can hold a weapon freely, and there's just no teacher to hold anyone-- or him-- back.

grian is a hopeless romantic and so is taurtis! but grian def took a while to ask him out while taurtis flirted with him HEAVILY.

fun fact: taurtis is talking about getting slushies after school while grian works as his shield in the rain because taurtis literally never prepares for the rain nor snow.
