Summary: Who knew memories could be so bittersweet?
A/N: Just a quick thought I had. I needed to write it down as it was fading away. I’ll probably write a better one later.

This is super well-done! It's short, but there's still such a big impact behind it as well. It's such a bittersweet tale just as bittersweet as the memories themselves. Plus it features a beloved pairing!
These two now walk two very different paths - one contributing to the recovery of a broken world, and the other finding redemption within that world itself. It’s more than a tale of hope and despair. They’re both looking towards the future with memories in tact that will affect them for years to come. Before the fall, there was the time they once walked the same path together.
It was such a Kyoko thing to do though when Aoi suggested she try to rekindle a past relationship. It made sense. It would be a forced obligation, and neither of them felt as strongly due to the memory alterations no thanks to Junko. It would’ve been awkward. For any relationship to happen, it would require time again, but the two of them already had a lot on their plate to even consider such a thought.
Golly - the last line made me emotional. After all Kyoko withdrew a part of herself for the sake of her profession, but the fact she opened up out of that shell said a lot about their relationship alone. It clearly stated there was a lot of trust between them. However, Kyoko hid away her own apprehension behind a stoic mask. It hurt though; knowing that Hajime’s own insecurities consumed him to the point he took on the Kamukura Project, or perhaps there was another conflict at hand. There’s a lot of ambiguity behind their tale, but always fun to make up interpretations.
Whew. This got long, and I don’t know if this will reach anyone at this point. Ah well. I just wanted to drop my thoughts here.
Sango: Come on, I wasn't /that/ drunk last night.
Miroku: You were flirting with Kagome.
Sango: So what? She's my wife.
Inuyasha: You asked her if she was single.
Miroku: And then you cried when she said she wasn't.
