Jasper let his mind pull together a plan for detaining the witch. Mental maps of Winfall filtered through his head as his mind raced. âWe can make that happen,â he nodded, knowing it would be easier if he came across as less threatening. He wasnât sure how well that would happen, considering his state of mind on the subject of witches these days, but for the sake of doing his job correctly, he would force it all away.
Following her into the building, he opened the door to the lobby and hit the button of the elevator, his mind continuing to race. Once in the elevator, Jasper turned to Ying. âI still have tranquilizer ammo. It should help get the witch detained without too much damage,â he told her, wanting to do far more than that to the witch.
âI do not approach witchesâ Ying said bluntly, âNever have, even in regular clothing.â People rarely came in contact with her in general, her presence just too intimidating for others and making people feel uncomfortable. It made everyone a suspect to her, as they should be. At least she knew that Jasper has some communication skills, when he puts his mind to it. Truthfully it probably was always Walker that was the approachable one, a reminder that she yet again wished the man went through the Elite training and became one of them. It would have given him so much more leverage and ability to do things... But that was a thing of the past.Â
As the elevator doors closed, Ying turned to Jasper, âThat will work. Calmly talk to the witch before tranquilizing them. We will need to make sure if there are any humans that have become allies with them. In Winfall it is unlikely but you never know...â After Freda being a traitor, anyone can turn on them and everyone is to be suspected as a traitor.Â
