Someone showed me a post from @chickenmuse including their chicken named Chainsaw Nun which at first I mistook for a metal band. Then I jokingly asked if I should start that band and they said yes but it should be something classy like chamber music or what have you. We got to joking around and eventually decided that it’d be me playing like nice soft clean classical guitar on my 8-string but start every song with a heavily distorted pickslide and so I threw this together.
So @chickenmuse, this is for you and Chainsaw Nun.
So my mother, adopted sister, and I went to an antique shop the other day and I ended up walking out $70 poorer but with these two semi-vintage amps (in great condition and working, sorry, too lazy to take pictures of the actual ones right now).
According to the tags (and some research) I got a VOX DA5 in pink (which is apparently very rare) from the late 80′s/early 90′s for $15, and a Fender 15 Red Knob from the late 70′s/early 80′s for $55.
A short test track for a new metal project I'm working on called Rustbelt, taking inspiration from Fallout 4. This is the first track on the EP/Album "Close to Metal".
Just set this to loop and you have the entire DOOM soundtrack by Mick Gordon basically.
Just playing around replicating Mick Gordon's style. This isn't the full track obviously, this is just the main riff/intro.
I made the worst video ever.
So I just opened my Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi Nano fuzz pedal to try and trouble shoot a problem and discovered that it came with it’s own custom 9v battery. I knew Danelectro did this, but their batteries are nowhere near as... interesting. Nor do they have VERY BAD ADVISE ABOUT BATTERY DISPOSAL ON THEM.
Iron Giant Tone Walkthrough
In case any guitar type nerds happen upon this I’m bored so I’m basically showing how I got the tone in the previous post. No one will probably care or understand this so putting it under a cut.
This is just a tone test as I'm currently reworking my main guitar tone a bit. I wasn't playing as tight as I should have so there's some kind of piercing picking sounds in there. Sorry about that.
I would really appreciate any feedback anyone has on how I might further improve the sound (other than playing better). If it’ll help I’ll gladly go into detail about what exactly I’m using.
So I'm working on a cover... of a cover...
Basically I'm doing my take on I Prevail's take on Taylor Swift's "Blank Space".
This is so far only about halfway done if that, and obviously synth'd, not actually recorded yet. Also about halfway through this recording a note or two gets skipped for some reason.
Hoping to find someone to record vocals for me, too.
Yeah this is short as shit and yeah I fucked up the second repeat but oh well. This was both a tone test of a new guitar tone I'm crafting and a test of a new mixing & mastering technique I'm experimenting with. Overall (my sloppy playing aside), how's it sound?
Okay so some clarification: 1) This is new in that it belonging to me is new. It is a used guitar. 2) It's only a first in that it's my first semi-hollowbody/hollowbody.
Specifically, this is an Ibanez Artcore AS73 TCR-12-01. Just got it yesterday.
Someone I know was trying to get rid of it so I said I'd take it and... it's in absolutely pristine condition. There's literally no sign this thing isn't brand new.
Which is surprising because it was made in... I want to say '08? Something like that.
Anyhow this isn't actually a great demonstration of the sound. Just had it plugged in to a little Danelectro Hodad mini-amp which, despite having the gain all the way down, decided to add too much overdrive in my opinion anyways. But still, there you go!
Just messing about with some settings to get a good sound out of one of my acoustic guitars. Feedback would be appreciated!
Just what I’ve got so far of a cover I’m working on of Eluveitie’s “Call of the Mountains”.
Working on a cover of Motley Crue's "Shout At The Devil" and wanted to experiment with doing a bit more in the mix than I usually do.
Mixed results I suppose. Get it? MIXED results? Haha. But seriously, the drum volume varies too much in my opinion.
