It is difficult to feel comfort these days. Difficult to feel relief, to feel care, to feel grounded. As I search for answers, I look to nature. If I describe the feeling I get as I connect and listen to my surroundings, it’s like a gentle pull toward feeling and its source. Toward intuition, toward simplicity, toward balance. Nature is all of those things. To find comfort in the space where no explanation is needed, and one can just be. Be, alive. So how does this process apply to our personal style?
I fundamentally believe that our style and the way we express ourselves through what we put on our bodies is rooted in our surroundings. There is a synergistic relationship with what we feel on the inside and how that connects to the outside. Our personal style directly reflects the environments we have to navigate and how and where we choose to show up.
A beautiful expression of this “return to nature” sentiment can be found in the explosion of floral themes. One of my personal favorites is the daisy. This basic flower is popping up on accessories, like anklets and scarves, and in bold patterns and statement pieces like the jumpsuit and swimsuits. Simple, whimsical, dreamy, fresh. So many ways to play with this flower and pick a pattern that speaks to you. Check out the June Inspiration board from Ynot New York for more ideas on how to play with daisies.

My mission, should I choose to accept it, is to find peace with exactly who and what I am. To take pride in my thoughts, my appearance, my talents, my flaws and to stop this incessant worrying that I can’t be loved as I am.
