you do not have to throw away things you already own for a boycott. i have a HP laptop and puma sneakers. i already fucking paid for them. i will not be buying HP or puma products in the future. it's that easy.

if you want to extend the boycott to mcdonalds, starbucks and dominos: you can learn to cook. you do not need to order hellofresh to read a recipe off a website or in a cookbook. i'm not a very good cook but i'm willing to learn if it means applying pressure to companies supporting a genocide.

you should be doing everything in your power to help the people of palestine. this should be radicalizing you. it should be filling you with enough rage to fucking do something about it.

I've seen a lot of posts bringing attention to the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria, but with a focus mainly on Turkey, so allow me to talk about Syria.

The earthquake hit several areas of Syria (Aleppo, Idlib, Latakia, Hama, and Tartus) that were already devastated by war over the past 13 years. As of me writing this post, there are over 1700 people dead in Syria alone, and hundreds injured and wounded, not counting people still stuck under the rubble. I'm too emotionally drained to try to appeal to people's humanity, but please take a moment to look through the following sources of Syrian people reporting directly from Syria, and help if you can.

No hope for the Syrian people under these sanctions to survive normal every day life or a cold winter, let alone disaster of this magnitude. There's a campaign to stop the sanctions on Syria, but it's led by Syrians when we are the least able to affect this type of change. Read on it. I think so many people mistake the ‘you should reblog’ message with ‘I’m greedy and all I want is notes’ when it’s really not at all like that.

When creators say they’re discouraged from creating because their posts get no notes, they don’t mean they will refuse to create unless their last edit reaches at least 1k notes. What they mean is that the effort they’re putting into creating something purely out of inspiration and the need to share their passion and creativity with the world is being consumed and forgotten, just like it is on Instagram. Tumblr has changed from having an even reblog-like ratio, or even twice as many reblogs as likes, to being another social media where users consume content instead of sharing it.

We’re not trying to force you to reblog everything or want you to fill your blog with things you don’t like. But Tumblr is built on reblogs and likes. This is not a fast-food company where you can order something, consume it, and then throw it away. The very base of this website is sharing, as opposed to Instagram. Here, likes don’t give our posts exposure, reblogs do.

Notes are not the problem, the fact that you want new content without supporting creators is. So yeah, don’t be surprised if creators stop creating because nobody wants to share their creations.
