Actually, if we assume they’re both human, I think their relationship would be even more complicated. They might date for a while and then break up, but it would still be → a really messy relationship. Plus, no one would know when they started dating or when it ended, and I’d have a hard time saying whether they ever had sex (I feel like in this AU, they’d fight way more often than they’d have sex). Physical fights are just part of their relationship—that’s how it is.

Gavin, it feels like, really enjoys conquering others. Connor picked up on this very keenly and just went along with it—he didn’t really care what Gavin was thinking. At the same time, Gavin didn’t really care what Connor was thinking either.
But if you ask about Connor’s motivation for doing this, I can only say he has his own ulterior motives—he’s simply observing humans other than himself. It’s like conducting a social experiment (which is why Connor comes across as a bit of a “machine”).
But I think if the end of the world really did come, the first thing that would probably pop into their minds would be each other. But neither of them would actually go out to look for the other—I mean, why would they?
