*Jeremy nominates Tiffany for eviction.*
*Tiffany is safe from eviction.*
I fooking love Tiffany guys.
The taxi driver isn't much of a talker either, which is fine because I still have twenty percent of battery life left on my iPod and I'd rather be listening to The Chemical Brothers. "Life Is Sweet (Daft Punk Remix)" is on and it's a fitting soundtrack for these sights: the fog of car lights and street lights casting a glow over the bottoms of these mountainous buildings, their industrial architecture impeded by all the pedestrians' and their black silhouettes like ghosts walking in and out of view. Over and over and over until it's all just a blur of colors and smoke and expensive watches and shoes. My forehead is pressed against the window pane and bobbing to the synth and I feel like I'm high. I catch the driver's eyes in the rear view mirror and I can tell he's thinking the same thing. I'm not high, but I don't say that.
I realize I have no idea where we are but I feel like we're in Times Square. I want to ask, but I don't do that either.
I start to stalk the other cars with my eyes. The woman next to me in this expensive car is singing along to a song, thumbing the wheel to the drumbeat, but she's sad and her lips are subtle and she doesn't sing every word. She starts to cry and lets the tears go. It feels invasive to look into other people's cars when they're not looking because they assume no one is watching them. But someone is always watching and there's nothing worse than the meeting of the eyes. The woman sees me and I can tell she feels dirty and she speeds away and I wonder how much money she's making to feel so sad.

TOP 10 of 2O15
So this year was pretty fucking eclectic with subgenres of subgenres: sadcore hip-hop, funk pop, soft grunge, and the list goes on. The most memorable were new artists like The Bots, Wolf Alice, Courtney Barnett and Benjamin Booker who exploded onto their respective scenes with incredible debuts. Benjamin Booker’s “Have You Seen My Son?” puts anything Mumford and Sons have ever done to shame and Wolf Alice killed the alt. rock game with the infectiously soft-loud “Fluffy”. Then there’s M.I.A and King of Fuckboys The Weeknd who continue to add new and fresh dimensions to hip-hop. Kurt Cobain made his solo debut 22 years after his death with a breathtaking Beatles cover from the Montage of Heck soundtrack. But, in the end - and, yes, I know how insane I sound saying this - it was Joe Jonas’ funk pop band DNCE and their catchy-as-fuck “Cake By Ocean” that truly crushed in 2015.

MUSIC VIDEOS OF 2015
‘Borders’ wins all awards for being the strongest of the big-budget videos, but Vic Mensa’s ‘Down On My Luck’ made Groundhoug Day fun again and The Bots made the ultimate millennial music video for ‘All I Really Want’.
1. VIC MENSA - 'DOWN ON MY LUCK' 2. THE BOTS - 'ALL I REALLY WANT' 3. M.I.A. - 'BORDERS' 4. COURTNEY BARNETT - 'KIM'S CARAVAN' 5. ADELE - 'HELLO'

TV SHOWS OF 2015
This one is pretty easy: no other series has grabbed me quite like The Leftovers which delivered (with its second season) one of the finest years of television since, I think, Six Feet Under. Marvel’s two Netflix series far eclipsed any of the films, in my opinion, but it’s impossible to decide which one I like better - so I say it’s a tie. Rounding out the rest of the list, Orphan Black still got it (Tatiana Maslany as new clone Krystal was a 2015 highlight), Broad City still got it, Shameless still mostly got it, and Doctor Who is still on. And... I didn’t hate Sense8 like all of you did. Yeah, it’s Heroes meets Cloud Atlas but that’s what makes it fun. Oh and Lifetime attempted a dark comedy about reality TV and it was, by some miracle, good. It was a weird year.
O1 | THE LEFTOVERS O2 | MARVEL’S DAREDEVIL / JESSICA JONES O3 | ORPHAN BLACK O4 | BROAD CITY O5 | SENSE8 O6 | HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER O7 | SHAMELESS O8 | UNREAL O9 | TUT 1O | DOCTOR WHO

MOVIES OF 2015
This year, I’m not going to get into too much detail as to why I chose how I did (also: I’m super fucking late) but I will say it’s been a GREAT year for POC in film and an even better year for rock docs. Montage of Heck and Amy were tragic and captivating from start to end, Dope dominated narrative film by making narrative film FUN again, and Mommy did some groundbreaking things cinematically (that ASPECT RATIO THO). Elsewhere, Diary Of A Teenage Girl was the film that floored me; brilliant and gutsy and wildly imaginative.
O1 | KURT COBAIN: MONTAGE OF HECK O2 | DOPE O3 | DIARY OF A TEENAGE GIRL O4 | AMY O5 | CHI-RAQ O6 | MOMMY O7 | CREED O8 | EX MACHINA O9 | MISTRESS AMERICA 1O | STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

It’s like I don’t know how to run I circle you for miles and miles I don’t see what you see in me I look so ugly when I smile
fun fact: this is my apartment.
If you haven’t seen my new web series yet - maybe take a look at this new trailer? You’ll know in 10 seconds if it’s for you!
Making a big conventional moment-trailer (despite all promises to myself that I wouldn’t) is my big plea to the universe for a second season. So why not! If not…. series finale September 30th :D

“Are you having a personality crisis or something?”
I’m sorry, okay? I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry! How many times do I have to say it? Until you mean it.
SOARIE
ASHLEY. I’M SOARRY I’M SOARRY I’M SOARRY HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY IT.
Here’s the rare version of the original Degrassi theme song with the extended rap. I never knew it existed until last winter when I was making my best friend Kavin a mix of all the original songs on Degrassi. I think it’s both hilarious and wonderful… Gotta love a gospel breakdown featuring a children’s chorus.
cryin
I just discovered Degrassi is ending (I thought it ended 6 years ago but ok) and getting super nostalgic aboot it. WHATEVER IT TAKEEES
New DRTY DIANA! And I’m especially excited about this one because it’s been my lifelong dream to write a soundtrack song for SOMETHING. I’m also playing guitar on the song, “Self-Righteous Bitch” at the end of this episode! :)
I haven’t felt this supported and backed in a long time. Thank you to everyone for all the kind words and encouragement today.
Black Girl Nerds says #DRTYDIANA “illustrates how black women are not a monolith” in their glowing review of Episodes I and II. Have you tuned in yet?
Seriously. Honored and humbled by this.
