College Ana Tips
I just started my classes this semester and here are some of the things I’ve started doing!
•Lecture/Campus Tips•
• Bring a large iced coffee/tea/water to class and finish it by the end.
• Don’t even look at the vending machine.
• If there’s a cafeteria or food place near your class, walk around it. You’ll get extra steps in and avoid temptation.
• Set rules for yourself based on your schedule. For example, I have Stats every Tuesday and Thursday so I only eat 500 calories those days.
• Find the cheapest cafe on or near campus. Trust me, it’s worth it.
• I only bring enough cash with me to get two coffees and a bus ticket home. You can’t pay for food that way!
• Got a friend across campus that gets out of class about the same time you do? WALK THERE! The more movement the better!
• If you smoke, scope out the easiest place to do so without getting in trouble. My campus is smoke free and it fucking sucks.
•Study/Dorm/Apartment Tips•
• Snack on some almonds or another low calorie food while studying. I know the calories are scary but you need it to help you focus. I suggest the Emerald Raw Almond 100 Calorie Packs! Cheap and healthy.
• Water water water water water water water. Drink it while you’re studying, cleaning, or just chillin.
• Getting out and exercising can be hard with a college schedule, I get it! TRUST ME!!!! One of my textbooks has an audiobook so I go for a walk and listen to it.
• Try to keep as little food near you as possible. Stress and boredom eating get hard to manage when you live alone/without parents around.
• Your roomie wants to go get shitfaced somewhere???? Only do it every once in a while. Alcohol is a calorie sneak. The more you drink the less you care about the repercussions.
• Studying is always a viable excuse to not go out to eat with friends. They will understand.
•Most Importantly•
• Stay healthy and know your limits. College can be stressful and trying but fasting until you pass out isn’t going to help you. If you’re in this for the long haul, remember that you’ll get where you want to be at your own pace.
• Good Luck!
