I personally haven't been effected by this, but I'd like to point out the strangeness that is staff being allowed to have messed up/angsty/inappropriate plots, but the rest of the site has to back off the matter tentatively....

majority of the admin's plots that might include any kind of difficulties in the character's life were planned before the site was opened, prior to the announcement asking people to take it easy. and that's just the thing, it was just asking people to cool off, because there were some extreme apps, filled with multiple disorders and self harm, all for one character. we like to keep things realistic as possible, and to do that, we need to keep things in check. we as admins have also taken our newest characters into account for this. but we always encourage people to come talk to us if they have a problem, so if you wish to discuss it further, why not come off anonymous? no one needs to think they can't be straight with us and hide behind the little grey icon. we don't bite!

i think you were too hasty in promoting patrick. he has pended a lot of apps that looked fine.

every app patrick has pended has through discussion with more than one staff member, and every single one of them has had genuine factors we have taken issue with as a staff team. he's just been the one posting the pending notices because, well. he's a great staff member, one who has immediately stepped up -- and put his own personal character activity to the side -- to help the site run smoothly.

if you have any genuine concerns about applications you feel were unfairly reviewed, you can contact us off anon. this is all we're saying in regards to this matter publicly.

hey guys!!! so let me preface this by saying we know this opening time won’t be the easiest for everyone, but with staff members in several different timezones — including me in the buttcrack of the world — we’ve had to be a little flexible. but hopefully it’ll sort of work for everyone!!!

so we’ll be opening 10/12/2012 at 6pm EST / 3pm PST — which is 9am where i’m from, for anyone keeping score. this is, of course, subject to a little wriggle room if there are any last minute emergencies, but that’s when we’re hoping for!!!

when people talk about format to do with freestyle apps, they generally mean a way of organising it. you can do that, or you can just write something that fits -- i'm doing both, depending on the character!

Okay I've decided that my freestyle app will consist of me taking a dump, taking a picture of it and scanning it into the format because at this point that's more eloquent than my words. WHY ARE FREESTYLE APPS SO HARD?! everyone does such amazing insightful ones and I'm like DERP HERP DERP BUHHH.

what i've found to help me is writing "slice of life" little drabbles about the character. situations that show who they are, how they deal with stress, love, intimacy, sadness, etc.
