one of my favorite things on the album is the equality in the relationship in different ways that she shows through parallels
âyouâll save all your dirtiest jokes for me/and at every table iâll save you a seatâ
âi am an architect, iâm drawing up the plans, itâs like iâm 17 nobody understandsâ / âheâs so obsessed with me and boy i understandâ
âyou know i had a long nightâ/âi know you had a long nightâ
âi waited my whole lifeâ/âyou waited your whole lifeâ
âi love a london boyâ / âhe likes my american smileâ
âi canât talk to you when youâre like thisâ/âyou canât talk to me when iâm like thisâ
âiâm new york cityâ/âyouâre the west villageâ
âi still do it for you, babeâ/âyou still do it for me, babeâ
âiâm the only one of me, baby thatâs the fun of meâ/âyouâre the only one of you, baby thatâs the fun of youâ
âmaybe you ran with the wolves and refused to settle down/maybe iâve stormed out of every single room in this townâ
i love it because i feel like on taylorâs earlier albums, a lot of the times she would describe her relationships as her being more into them, or she was the crazy one, or the other way around. she doesnât have that many songs where she describes a relationship as being on equal footing, but now we have a whole album full of them, and itâs good to know her relationship is so balanced
