((I wonder if that Gatobob callout blog is still active and what they'd say about it now.. I still think it's kinda funny how they decided to make a callout blog and attempt to frame Gatobob for being racist due to bad writing. I understand that probably isn't all but like,, cmon man. I feel like if Gato was racist, she'd completely exclude POC in her games or at least make them the subject of torture. Yeah, there are a few but there's also antagonists (for lack of better word) that are POC. It just feels a bit silly. I still believe the explanation in ykmet gets the point across clearly. Terrible times those 2010s were for some people. And no. We're not mentioning the Strade n@zi art, I think we've established that that literally doesn't matter anymore and that Gato was (most likely, I don't speak for her) in a bad state of mind during that time. Maybe it was a commission, who knows. Unsanctioned confession, but I used to have a USSR OC when I was younger. She was a war vet and had a kid but was still very USSR. I've since then abandoned her because wow cringe and what was I thinking. I've repurposed her as just an old russian mother retired with her child. offical review, ykmet is super awesome. I love how familiar it is, in terms of BTD1. Gato did write a whole paragraph explaining why she makes these kinds of games and what it can mean to people that I really linked with! Kudos to Gatobob for explaining it in a great way. Lol, leave this post now if you don't wanna read an essay (or get a ykmet spoiler)...

Out of character now. Ykmet truly is a good game and it reminds me so much of the first game in the series (as it should) Strade is cruel as usual but not unfeeling. He's fun and pretty insane. Ren looks GREAT and I adore the all the art. From another artist standpoint, the art style compared to the first game to now is a phenomenal glow up. The older art has its own quirks and it wasn't at all bad but now it seems more fleshed out and it feels like the characters have more weight on them. Physically and Metaphorically. I can feel the characters on a new level. I do want to thank Gatobob for writing that paragraph. It helps explain what I often found myself struggling to defend when faced with TPOF and the other games when I had first gotten them. I struggle a lot with hypersexuality from when I was assaulted as a kid. It affected my life a lot, especially due to how young I was, I didn't know what to feel. I was uncomfortable and I thought it was normal until I reached Junior High. Then it happened again. I was struggling with Hypersexuality so much that it was in my thoughts all the time and I couldn't control it. I will admit, I found out about the BTD games when I was younger but I never had enough courage to play the games. I just watched walkthroughs and read guides. Seeing all these things happen to the protag but having a choice as to where the story goes next..it made me feel good. I could choose what was going to happen and it had the thrill of not knowing what was going to happen but still having the power to go back if the outcome was undesirable. It gave me that control that I was lacking when I was actually assaulted. That's the reason I rave about these games (and Gato) so much. I feel seen, I feel like I don't have to be afraid to do the things I wish to do, I feel glad knowing I'm not alone. The BTD games plus TPOF and YKMET have really improved my mental health since I've been playing them. I've come to terms with myself and embraced my whole being, hypersexuality or not. These games have helped me function again, giving me the control I did not have when I needed it, and have made me feel better in the process. Thank you, Gatobob.

Addressing some stuff

(Okay! So I do see a lot of interesting things circling the BTD fandom. I don't really need to explain so lets get into it. Proshippers and BTD/BTD2/TPOF While a large part of the fanbase are proshippers, some people aren't. Like me. I enjoy these games and I am not a proshipper. I believe, as long as nobody is actually being hurt by this, it should be left alone as all these games have been. I don't support these activities and I tend to avoid them the best I can which is the only thing I can do. My best advice is: Don't interact if you see or find something you do not like. As long as nobody in real life is being hurt because of it, as long as it is all fiction and stays fiction, better to leave it alone.) (I've played all three games, so allow me to state the obvious on the characters warnings. I haven't explored BTD/BTD2 as much as I have TPOF so this is the best I can do.) Strade: Non-con, Violence, Torture, SH, etc.. Rire: Tentacles, mind control, basically all that Strade has but on a different level Sano: Parasite, mind control, drugging, violence, etc. Ren: Non-con, shock collar, gun violence, gore, etc. Lawrence: Non-con drug use, hallucinations, insects, amputation, gore, violence Vincent: (so this one is pretty bad..)Non-con, Non-con alcohol use, gunplay, gun violence, eye trauma, vomit, piss, (<- the worst.) gore, fire, etc... Cain: Religious themes, Auto-cannibalism, Claustrophobia, Hydrophobia, Acrophobia, Non-con, etc. (TPOF warnings are all in the game and on the steam page, so I don't feel the need to list them! You can find the other games warnings on the wiki, I was just reading from a list. Most, if not all characters, have gore in their routes. All games included.)
