Minor: Yeah? I thought for like 5 years that people just put it into hot water to speed up the… teaification process. Didn’t realize there was an actual reason.

Kiro: You don’t have the patience to microwave water for 3 minutes??

MC/Youran: Why are you… putting it in the microwave… to BOIL it??

Kiro: Do you think I have the patience to boil water on the stove?!

MC/Youran: It takes less than a minute!!

Kiro: Miss Chips is your stovetop powered by the FREAKING SUN!?!

MC/Youran: Just stick the mug on top of the stove on medium heat. And it boils in like, 2 minutes. Less than that and you use a saucepan.

Gavin: You’re putting the whole mug on the stove? ON MEDIUM HEAT?? Your stove is enchanted.

Victor: Every single person in this room is an absolute idiot…

Lucien: (Internally seething) Do none of you own a kettle.

Ares: I had her cornered, we were arguing, it was a normal altercation. And then my hand ended up around her throat. She looks me DEAD into my pupils, into my SOUL, and says,

Lucien’s Eyes

One thing that’s always puzzled me, in regards to karma art and such, is…

Why does Lucien’s eye color change?

Discounting karmas with a deliberate eye color change (ie, the vampire karma), Lucien’s eyes tend to change color. It’s different from when Kiro’s eyes change color, as I’m pretty sure Lucien doesn’t need to use his eyes for Copy.

Lemme start with smth simple: What do I think Lucien’s eye color is? Personally, as seen in my art, I view Lucien’s eyes to be the same pink as his tie; a sorta grayish pink. Largely for easier consistency.

And Lucien’s eyes, during his sprites, generally stay the same. In his sprites, his eyes definitely sport a more directly gray color.

For his karmas, however, his eyes can vary a lot from gray to purple, even to a bit of pink or magenta. There doesn’t seem to be a clear correlation between the events per karma and his eyes changing. Is it simply an artist thing? That’s not to say I don’t enjoy Lucien’s eyes changing. It’s fun, lol

I know it has been so, SO long since I’ve talked about FF7 and Mania, but I’ve been thinking about her potential boss fight and wanted to share it.

For starters, Mania has the lowest health out of every boss. Not to say she can be one-tapped, but she’s definitely got less health than any other boss.

But what Mania lacks in health, she more than certain makes up for in combat and defense. Her spirits are her main weapon. For her first fight, they’re all she uses. They can absorb hits, and she sends them out to strike, which provides an opening. Mania provides a challenge because of the initial limited cast of fighters. Bringing Barret to the team is immediately disadvantageous, as she can immediately deflect his bullets with the spirits and send them back out. Likewise, bringing Vincent or other ranged attacks to the team is detrimental to the fight, unless you’d like a challenge.

For subsequent fights, Mania upgrades her repertoire. She starts by bringing a small knife to the fight, meaning she isn’t as easy to strike when you get close up. Though the short range isn’t too difficult to deal with. But in her next fight, she sports Cure Materia, meaning she can heal what minimal hp she has.

I imagine she’d also have a fight or a few involving the remnants fighting alongside her. Or rather, her fighting alongside them. Mania supports the remnants, largely focusing her healing on them rather than herself. I imagine this would be challenging when she’s with Loz, who would logically be the bulkiest outta the three. But where it’s challenging, how they interact balances it out. Ofc, it would be too unfair and too much time to program specific actions Mania would have per remnant, but there’s always dialogue!

- Loz would telegraph his attacks with statements like “Look over here, Sister!” and “Watch me, Sister!”

- Kadaj would telegraph Mania’s attacks with commands such as “Sister, heal me!” or “Sister, attack Cloud!”

- Mania would telegraph her attacks to Yazoo by saying “Yaz, I’m striking Tifa!” and “Got a heal incoming, Yaz!”

But her final fight is where everything changes. Fueled by Geostigma and the Sephiroth genes (sorry if I got that wrong. Again, it’s been a while), Mania isn’t playing games with Cloud anymore. She’s out for BLOOD. And she’s not afraid to make everyone hurt. She’ll taunt them all with visions of those they lost (esPECIALLY Zack and Aerith), attacking more relentlessly than before. Barrett’s gunfire is effective now, but at what cost when her health has raised substantially?

Halfway through the fight, though, that’s where things get rough. A cutscene plays of Cloud landing what should’ve been a killing blow on Mania. Right across the chest (that art I made came in handy ;) ), but instead of dying, her spiritual power overwhelms her with her blood being used as a catalyst. She awakens her harpy form, but at a cost. Now the goal isn’t defeating Mania, it’s surviving her. She’s high in the air. Barret and Vincent’s shots can reach her, but it’s useless now. She’s not in control. The spirits and Sephiroth are fighting each other, trying to take over Mania. It’s only a matter of time until she loses all of the strength in her body, and…

Things I personally dislike about each LI’s closet:

Lucien: As much as I love Lucien, and that is a LOT, I personally dislike the outfits where his hair is pulled back. It both gives me Aizen vibes (/neg), and feels wrong given his normal hairstyle. His stupid (/aff) haircut cannot possibly be able to stay up like that. Honestly if he pulled his hair back as Ares I probably wouldn’t be as thirsty for him AS Ares.

Kiro: The glasses. Him and Gavin, actually. The two of them just don’t feel like glasses vibes. I know Kiro has his for his disguise and that’s fine, but the ones that are commonly seen in his karmas… ok, I’m gonna be mean here. I’m not sorry, but…

Gavin: Personally, the outfits that give Gavin long hair feel off to me. I know for most of the LIs (*hard side-eyeing Lucien*), they just get the long hair slapped on their usual model, keeping the bangs and such, esp for the Westmoon story… for the most part (again. Looking at YOU, Lucien). But for Gavin, his hairstyle just doesn’t feel natural for long hair being slapped on like that

(It feels more like extensions)

Victor: The suits. THE SUITS. He is ALWAYS. WEARING. A SUIT. VICTOR DID IT FIRST AND ZAYNE FOLLOWED SUIT PUN ABSOLUTELY INTENDED.

Lucien, by some miracle (ha), has like- one or a few shiny Pokémon. But because he’s colorblind, he has NO IDEA.

So he’s just like “why does everyone make a big deal out of my Pokémon?” And meanwhile everyone else is like “WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!”

Things that make me cry abt each LI (as a Youran/MC fictkin. Note this is my personal timeline experience. I do not speak for all MCs):

Victor: Honestly, being a Youran fictkin means I’m mostly crying at Victor’s lines and his general fluffy treatment of me. Though the fact I’m the one that traumatizes him probably doesn’t help.

Gavin: How selfless he is. Even in the other timeline. He’s always putting my needs above his, and man does it get me choked up.

Kiro: Ngl Kiro makes me frustrated more than he makes me cry (I blame Helios), though I also haven’t gotten too far into the story so I’m sure his tear jerker moments will come soon. When I… eventually decide to sit down and watch the story again…

Lucien: Look. I love Lucien. And as a Lucien lover, there’s nothing that doesn’t make me sad with him. But what really gets me crying is the fact that his parents were ripped away from him. HIS PARENTS WERE PROBABLY REALLY SWEET PEOPLE THEY DID NOT DESERVE THE TRUCK-KUN TREATMENT.
