Spencer swallowed hard and she could feel the pieces of her heart being put back together, slowly but surely, the very second she felt Beth’s arms slide around her waist. “You’re not gonna die,” she whispered, her voice still hoarse and raspy from the rawness that coated the back of her throat. “There’s- Maybe there’s another way to give you - I dunno - Some of my, uh, powers - Without fully changing you. Or maybe I should just bite the bullet and do it.” The wolf was merely thinking out loud here, but their options were limited and so was their time. “Ya know, just to be sure that whatever you have has no chance of ever coming back…” Her words trailed off and her voice slowed. More salty tears stung her bloodshot eyes. “I just want you to know what you’re getting yourself into if I - if we go through with this.” But then again, Spencer could make sure Beth wouldn’t have to deal with the overwhelming amounts of guilt she has to carry with her day in and day out. Spencer could keep her from doing the damage she’s already done, the lives she’s taken, the people she’s killed. It could all be prevented.
"We could try." The wolf placed her arms on top of Beth’s and squeezed before twisting her neck, angling it so that she could lock eyes with the clone, making damn sure that her point came across crystal clear, "We need to find a - I dunno - a doctor or someone we can trust to do a little experimenting, ya know? But we gotta keep it on the DL. I don’t wanna be the next poster child that has the cure for cancer."
Words were not the most important thing to Beth, not currently at least, not with her arms around Spencer and the wolf's scent filling her nose and delighting each of her senses, sending her mind back to everything they had been through together, from each kiss, even to the smallest brush of their hands, every smile. She couldn't leave it all, she didn't want to. When the wolf's voice came out raspy, Beth knew that this was affecting the both of them, their lives weren't separate...not any more. There was no way something could happen to one without the other practically falling apart. This was love, and she was only just beginning to understand what it meant. "I know..." She responded quietly, resting her face against the back of her girlfriend's neck, her lips pressed up against the cool skin. "I know what it means...but...it means I'll get to stay here, with you. We'll have forever."
"I might know somebody that could help...I'd have to get back in contact with...my family. But, if you need a doctor for this then we'll get one." Her gaze met Spencer's, trying to bring the honesty in her eyes across in her words. "We're playing by your rules...nobody else's. Nobody else has to know." Beth hated having to do this, and the thought terrified her, that was for sure. But she was more terrified of having to leave her new found love on her own while she withered away and died. Closing the small space between them, Beth let her lips meet the wolf's, as if somehow a simple kiss would solve the problems they were facing.
